IfraExpo premier for ECRM NEWSmatic 250 CTP

Press release from the issuing company

IfraExpo 2005 will see the European premier of ECRM Imaging Systems’ latest newspaper CTP solution, the NEWSmatic 250; on Stand 41254, Hall 4. Launched earlier this year, the NEWSmatic 250 is the latest addition to ECRM’s newspaper offer. The Leipzig show will provide the opportunity for interested parties to see at first hand the evolution of newspaper CTP and get an insight into ECRM’s philosophy of making CTP more accessible and easier to use. With a reputation for high quality manufacture and a value driven product line stretching back over 35 years, the NEWSmatic 250 follows in the footsteps of such products as the Autokon scanner, Marlin imagesetter and Wildcat CTP system. This 250 plate integrated cassette and trolley is a factory configuration for the NEWSmatic CTP, designed for increased levels of unattended operation. Derek Sizer, Vice President EMEA & APAC at ECRM, comments, “IfraExpo provides the ideal forum to launch the NEWSmatic 250 across Europe. “We have received many requests for a CTP device that provides automation, reliability and increased plate capacity, with the same low cost and high quality of our MAKO and NEWS product families,” remarks Derek. “We took this feedback onboard and feel that the NEWSmatic 250 CTP will fit a certain niche in the newspaper industry and the price point is very competitive.” The NEWSmatic 250 incorporates ECRM’s patented FleXarm technology, plate pick up mechanism and ultra reliable slip-sheet removal system, while increasing the cassette capacity to 250 plates. During operation, slip-sheets are deposited into the removal bin and plates are automatically imaged and transferred to the processor. Although the cassette capacity has increased, the footprint remains the same. The NEWSmatic CTP frame has been modified to support the integrated cassette and trolley and will accommodate plate sizes between 290 mm x 470 mm and 635 mm x 927 mm. ECRM will also supply the latest TIFF Server with the NEWSmatic 250 CTP. ECRM CtServer v5.3 will be bundled with all purchases, providing a simple network connection to RIPs, workflow systems and the platesetter.
