At the DMA Conference, we will print a variety of unique direct mail pieces to demonstrate the productivity and flexibility of the Xeikon 5000 for such applications." At the DMA Conference, the Xeikon 5000 will print fully- personalized direct mail pieces including full-color insurance and financial promotion offerings as well as marketing-oriented transactional statements. The X-800 Digital Front-End will host the industry-standard PPML protocol at the show for these applications. In addition, the newly-supported IPDS data stream will also be used. The complete production line will consist of a Xeikon 5000 along with the X-800 Digital Front-End, the Xeikon Print Protector, a jumbo reel unwinder and a Kern converting line. The Xeikon Print Protector enables digitally printed documents to be finished and handled swiftly under demanding conditions. Integrated with the Xeikon 5000 will be the Kern converting line that allows easy fulfilment of high volume print production. The Kern product offerings were chosen for this purpose because of their recognized capability in high volume production environments. In addition, the Xeikon 5000 will be fed by a jumbo reel paper unwinder offering hours of uninterrupted printing. The Xeikon booth will also host web-to-print applications driven by NOW Technologies Group and XMPie. As a result, visitors will have access to Print-On-Demand and workflow demonstrations to assess how they can increase their company's marketability in the web-to-print applications space. "Our aim at the DMA Conference is to demonstrate how direct mail printers can broaden their offerings by utilizing the Xeikon 5000," concludes Kristof.
