Image Mill Expands Its HP Digital Printing Portfolio with HP Indigo Press 5000

Press release from the issuing company

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 12, 2005 – HP today announced that Image Mill Inc., a Redmond, WA-based leading provider of retail, corporate, event and tradeshow printing solutions, has purchased an HP Indigo press 5000 press to address the increased market demand for full-color, variable data printing jobs. A longtime user of HP Designjet large-format technology, Image Mill is broadening its portfolio of HP digital printers to expand its service offerings into the small format market. The seven-color HP Indigo press 5000 allows Image Mill to quickly and cost-effectively produce short-run marketing collateral for customers including one of the nation's leading fashion retailers. “Commercial printers and industry analysts have confirmed that HP Indigo image quality is virtually synonymous with offset,” said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP. “But what’s even more exciting is that our digital technology takes it a step further by offering significant personalization and on-demand capabilities which help companies like Image Mill capitalize on new market opportunities.” Image Quality Sets HP Digital Technology Apart Since 1997, Image Mill has relied on a fleet of HP Designjet printers to handle large-format photo quality jobs, including point-of-sale posters and banners that require color uniformity along with fast, on-demand printing. Due to high demands for small format jobs from large retail clients, Image Mill needed a solution that could produce intensely colored display signage and insert jobs for its cosmetics departments and programs with the same quality that HP Designjet printers have produced. “Until we tested the HP Indigo press 5000, we had huge challenges with color shifts during printing,” said Scott Minette, owner, Image Mill. “It’s paramount that we maintain brand integrity in the materials we produce for our clients.” The HP Indigo press 5000, the most advanced high-end digital printing press on the market, is designed for extremely demanding production environments. PANTONE certified, it prints in up to seven colors, delivering offset quality on a wide range of substrates and is supported by a full galaxy of specialized solutions partners. “Our clients across the country rely on our expertise and technology to deliver consistent brand solutions for each and every project,” said Jeff Sybil, sales and marketing manager, Image Mill. “With the HP Indigo press 5000 and our four Designjets, we are strongly positioned as a single, high quality source for the majority of our customers’ digital printing needs.”
