Xanté PlateMaker 5 XL Concept on Display at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

May 30, 2008 - DÛSSELDORF (drupa 2008) - Xanté is demonstrating a design concept for a large format process-free, chemical-free polyester CTP system here at drupa. The PlateMaker 5 XL is a total prepress system which images 16-up polyester plates and paper proofs up to 914 mm x 1219 mm (36" x 48"). Powered by Xanté OpenRIP Symphony 3.0, the all-in-one PDF workflow preserves file content and automates prepress tasks such as trapping and imposition.

Press-Ready Plates in Approximately One Minute
The PlateMaker 5 XL will be the next addition to the renowned PlateMaker 5 CTP series. The toner-based polyester platemaking solution is earth friendly and requires no plate processing chemicals.
Polyester plates up to 914 mm x 1219 mm (36" x 48") can be imaged in about one minute and placed directly on the printing press, without any further processing. The Platemaker 5 XL is designed for single color and spot color work. Plus, 16-up large format capability makes it an affordable and appealing solution for the newspaper and book publishing industry.

Durable, High Quality Plates
Xanté will demonstrate the PlateMaker 5 XL using Myriad™ Polyester Plates in bulk rolls. Produced for more than 10 years, Myriad Polyester Plates have proven reliability and accuracy. Excellent hydrophilic properties provide fast ink-up, and a durable, scratch-resistant plate surface ensures long-lasting use.

Built Upon Proven PlateMaker Technology
The PlateMaker CTP series has been one of the most successful Xanté product lines since the initial release in 1995. Based upon proven PlateMaker technology, the PlateMaker 5 XL will produce large format, long run, process-free and chemical-free plates.

"We're showcasing the future design concept of the PlateMaker 5 XL at drupa to solicit customer feedback that will be incorporated into the finished solution. Based upon customer interaction we will complete the product design. Our goal was to create an affordable, fast, reliable, process-free and chemical-free, large format CTP system and I'm proud of our accomplishments thus far," says Xanté CEO, Robert Ross.

The PlateMaker 5 XL will be featured at drupa 2008, in Düsseldorf from May 29 through June 11.
