Neenah Paper Enhances Translucent Brand For Envelope Conversion

Press release from the issuing company

ALPHARETTA, GA. (September 19, 2005) — Neenah Paper’s latest gradeline extension pushes the envelope and gives graphic designers more creative freedom when using translucent sheets. The company has introduced UV/ULTRA Web+PlusTM Translucent Printing Papers, which are ideal for converting into envelopes. True to their name, they offer outstanding quality whether printing sheet-fed or printing using rolls in heat set web applications. They have been added to the UV/ULTRA II Translucent Papers portfolio and both brands are featured together in a recently released swatchbook. “Envelope conversion is currently a very popular end use of translucent papers, and so are promotional mailings,” says Patrick J. Lynch, Senior Brand Manager for Neenah Paper. “Translucent papers present wonderful opportunities for designers to create a visual impression for their clients.” There are six envelope sizes available in UV/ULTRA Web+Plus, which are all produced in a 30 lb. weight. They are: A-2, A-6, A-7, A-8, A-10, #10 commercial flap and #10 square flap — just what designers want! National Envelope, one of Neenah’s franchised converters, will be supporting the gradeline extension by stocking envelopes at all of its locations. UV/ULTRA Web+PlusTM combines the benefits of a natural paper with the characteristics of UV/ULTRA II Papers — excellent ink holdout, minimal dot gain, outstanding consistency, superior registration, curl resistance and a hard, uniform surface. However, UV/ULTRA Web+PlusTM also features folding and scoring properties that allow for wonderful usage in envelopes. Additional uses for which the new paper brand is well suited include brochure inserts, annual report flysheets, presentation overlays, invitations, announcements, business cards and menu inserts. Overall, UV/ULTRA Web+PlusTM has enhanced printing capabilities compared to other translucent papers. The offering has greater burst and tear strength to withstand the rigors of web offset printing at high continuous speeds. Just like traditional UV/ULTRA II, UV/ULTRA Web+PlusTM is suitable for a range of production techniques, including foil stamping, engraving, die cutting and emboss. To drive home the paper’s versatility, the new swatchbook features print sample demonstrations of foil stamping, blind embossing and four-color process on both paper substrates.
