Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite Premiers at PRINT 05

Chicago, IL — September 13, 2005 — Pageflex, the leading provider of Web-to-print technology, today introduced Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite, a completely new desktop software application enabling targeted and personalized content in both print and email. The product incorporates award-winning variable data and cross-media functionality from Pageflex into a desktop application. The core technology features a robust XML composition engine, designed specifically for variable data, and patented “flex” technology that automatically resizes items on a page based on the amount of custom content added. Pageflex is demonstrating the new software application in booth #6951 at the Print 05 exhibition running through September 15. Pageflex Persona Cross Media Suite delivers powerful features not found in other variable data extensions or applications, allowing it to serve as “campaign central” for cross-media marketing programs. Among the compelling features are cross-media capabilities for creating coordinated print and email campaigns, variable-length document capability, flexible layouts, and the ability to compose text in more than 60 languages, including Japanese and Chinese. These features enable users to produce database-driven, one-to-one business collateral materials and other personalized documents including direct-mail postcards and mailers, coupons, business cards, event-related collateral, marketing materials, travel itineraries, personalized booklets and many more. In addition, Persona Cross Media Suite can use the same variables and data sources for the production of database-driven personalized email and web-to-print applications. “Persona Cross Media Suite provides a powerful entry point for printers, service providers, small business owners, and corporate marketing departments beginning to use variable data and personalized emails,” says Anna Chagnon, CEO of Pageflex. “As a company’s needs grow, the software also provides an easy migration path to more sophisticated or complex campaigns enabling, for example, instantaneous deployment to an online Web-to-print storefront or online customization and interactive editing by remote staff. All templates, variables, and projects created in Persona Cross media Suite are fully compatible with and can be re-used by our server based Web-to-print applications — Pageflex .EDIT, Pageflex Storefront and Pageflex Mpower.” Persona Cross Media Suite includes a set of applications, tools and drivers that together enable users to create variable layouts, produce print output in both standard and optimized formats, produce and send HTML email output, and manage digital asset files used in variable data projects. As a primary design application, the package includes Pageflex Studio, which has a user-friendly drag and drop interface and familiar graphic design tools including standard layout, typography, image and color controls. It also includes a plug-in for Adobe InDesign and a QuarkXTension enabling users to convert InDesign and QuarkXPress documents into the Pageflex XML format. This allows users to repurpose existing projects for variable output, adding variability, flexibility, and personalization parameters in Pageflex Studio.
