GMG appoints Chromaticity master distributor supporting the US market
Press release from the issuing company
Tuebingen, Germany (September 10, 2005) – GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, today announces that it has appointed Chromaticity as the company’s master distributor for US markets. In this role, Chromaticity will provide full distribution and training for GMG’s complete product line. The United States is a very important market for GMG and, after serious review, Chromaticity was selected because of its exceptional reputation and knowledge of markets that require color management and proofing products.
Founded in 1998, Chromaticity initially focused on professional services. However, very quickly customers began to ask the company for product recommendations and, ultimately, to provide hardware, software and media. As time progressed, Chromaticity became known as an exceptional source of high-level technical knowledge and support to manufacturers, resellers, and end users.
With knowledge of markets, products and technologies, Chromaticity was a logical choice for GMG Americas’ expanding distribution network. As master distributor, Chromaticity works directly with US resellers of GMG products, providing presales and sales support, installation, training, and post sales support for the entire line of GMG color management and proofing products.
In addition to distribution, Chromaticity plays a key role supporting GMG customers and resellers. In partnership, Chromaticity and GMG has developed a series of programs and tools to support the wide range of customers and applications for GMG products. They have developed and implemented a national network of certified technical resources providing product installation and customer training and support.
The companies have also launched the GMG Colorsource, which includes a comprehensive national technical support program. Available on a per-call or annual contract basis, the Colorsource also incorporates a dynamic web-driven technical resource backed by Chromaticity expertise. An on-line database boasts over 300 index-searchable articles with downloads, PDF instruction guides, and links to useful information as well as practical ‘tips and tricks’ from the field.
GMG Colorsource members receive a unique username and password allowing them to access this dynamic database of knowledge, and the ability to open and track their support issues. Chromaticity staff monitors responses to open support requests via phone, e-mail and direct Webex Support Center service—ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction in resolving color management issues.
“Chromaticity’s and GMG’s partnership allows two industry leaders to collaborate on delivering best-in-class color technology and service solutions to the U.S market, providing our dealers and their customers with outstanding performance at an affordable price. While Chromaticity’s initial focus has been on GMG’s inkjet proofing solutions, we also look forward to serving the market with GMG’s ever expanding portfolio of professional color management solutions,” says John D. Graf, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Chromaticity Incorporated.
“We are proud of our partnership with Chromaticity. GMG provides the best color management products in the industry, and we believe it is essential to work with a partner with parallel levels of capability and credibility. Together, Chromaticity, GMG and our customers have made great progress in improving color communications and workflows in the US graphic arts market,” comments James Summers, President, GMG Americas.
