CGS Launches ORIS Package Pro at Print 05

Press release from the issuing company

Chicago (September 9, 2005) -- Following its recent announcement of full ORIS support for GretagMacbeth's n-Color ICC workflow, CGS Publishing Technologies International today launched a new proofing and color workflow bundle for the packaging market. ORIS Package Pro will include ORIS Color Tuner 5.2, plus GretagMacbeth's new ProfileMaker 5 Packaging software, and will provide packaging printers with a hotfolder-based approach to proofing, including highly accurate and easy-to-manage proofing of multiple spot or custom colors. Unlike other proofing systems, which must process image and linework data separately, the ORIS approach will use n-Color ICC profiles for all elements of the job, accurately rendering up to 10 separate channels. In addition to n-Color ICC profiles, ORIS Package Pro will also support GretagMacbeth's new Generic Output Profiler (GOP) workflow. The new process, being introduced at Print 05, automatically rebuilds a new n-Color ICC profile when one or more spot colors change - reducing the number of steps required for proofing and final output. ORIS Package Pro is designed for all types of package printing, including gravure, flexography and offset. In addition to its n-Color proofing capabilities, ORIS Color Tuner PLUS! modules may also be added, including color managed high-resolution file output for any RIP or output device, using ORIS Color Matcher.
