St. Joseph Print invests in MAN Roland web press technology

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto, Ontario - St. Joseph Print, a division of St. Joseph Communications, has announced that it is making a $40 million capital investment in new MAN Roland web press technology. The investment includes three new MAN ROTOMAN S web heatset presses: an eight-unit 48-page press, a six-unit 16-page press, and a four-unit 16-page press, all set for installation in 2006. “St. Joseph is a leader in the publication market, and also a top publisher,” says Vincent H. Lapinski, COO of Web Operations for MAN Roland Inc. “They know the value of presses that produce top quality results quickly and dependably, and we are proud to be a partner with St. Joseph.” Equipped with the latest make-ready and high-speed automation components, waste reduction features, CIP Ink key pre-set, and closed loop color technology, the new presses will provide a superior quality product and will be highly efficient for use in both short and long run publication and commercial web print markets. “We are committed to providing our customers with innovative solutions driven by advanced technology that enable them to achieve more success in the marketplace,” says John Gagliano, President of St. Joseph Print. “We are confident in our decision to partner with MAN Roland, a world leader in new press technology, to fulfill this commitment.” This strategic capital investment is part of St. Joseph Print's pressroom revitalization program designed to strengthen its competitive position and to increase its current capacity. The outlay is in keeping with St. Joseph Communications' mandate to continually reinvest its profits back into the business and to position itself as a technological leader in the communications industry. “This investment will benefit all St. Joseph stakeholders, especially our customers and associates,” says Ray D'Antonio, Executive Vice-President and General Manager of St. Joseph Print, Concord. “It will provide them with the most state-of-the-art technology available today, transforming an already advanced production facility into one of the most sophisticated and efficient in North America.”
