Monday, September 12, 2005
New York, NY; September 11, 2005 – Today at Print '05, Integrated Color Solutions (ICS) and Pantone, Inc. announced a strategic partnership to bring the industry-standard PANTONE Color System to ICS' award-winning Remote Director monitor-based proofing system. “As Remote Director gains acceptance from the highest quality commercial printer and packaging companies, there is a demand for incorporating the PANTONE Color Library in Remote Director,” said John Sweeney, ICS' vice president of sales and marketing. Pantone is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color. Pantone's new partnership with ICS makes Remote Director an even more powerful proofing tool for professionals in the graphic arts community. “Incorporating the PANTONE Color Libraries into Remote Director will give users greater latitude in their color matching abilities and the confidence that the final pieces will print just as they were intended,” said Andy Hatkoff, vice president of Pantone's Electronic Color Systems Division. The support of PANTONE Colors is just one of the enhancements to Remote Director that ICS has announced in recent weeks. ICS has also released Remote Director 3.1, an upgraded version of its software, which includes a suite of tools for printers, allowing them to easily integrate Remote Director 3.1 in the pressroom. Additionally, Remote Director added a new API interface, enabling Remote Director to work with any open or JDF-compliant workflow.
