Truepress Jet520 Full-Color Variable Printing Inkjet Printer From Screen Delivers New Levels Of Quality And Performance

Press release from the issuing company

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — The graphic communications industry has seen substantial interest in added-value printing that is tailored to individual customers. In recent years, demand for variable printing also has grown to encompass all types of formats . At PRINT 05, Screen (USA) will demonstrate a new full-color variable printing system designed to meet the pressing needs of the variable printing market. The Truepress Jet520 variable printing inkjet printer offers the perfect balance of exceptional performance, high print quality and low operating costs. This pioneering system brings together Screen's customer-proven prepress technology and the latest developments in inkjet printing. Superb color management and fast processing speeds combine to produce personalized catalogs, direct mail pieces, full-color account statements and other high-quality printed materials based on customer databases. The Truepress Jet520 uses multi-tone printing, with a color depth of four tones per drop (2-bit imaging) for each color. You can achieve unparalleled printing quality that has equivalent tones at double the physical resolution. The Truepress Jet520's precise printing derives from the Piezo DOD (Drop-On-Demand) inkjet print heads. Manufactured by Seiko Epson Corp., these highly reliable print heads are positioned in such a way that the pitch between individual colors is very small, enabling superlative precision. In addition, the water-based pigment inks resist water and light. As a result, they produce superior quality on both standard and uncoated stock. The roll-fed paper feeding system gives users the flexibility to handle high-speed and high-volume print runs. The Truepress Jet520 can easily accommodate work that requires tens of thousands of pages in a limited span of time, such as detailed invoices. A built-in quality control scanner ensures consistent image reproduction. This makes it easy to adjust or clean print heads. Furthermore, ink cartridges are easy to replace, helping to minimize the loss of printing time. The design of the Truepress Jet520 consists of a printing unit and a rewinder/unwinder unit. A variety of post-processing equipment can be connected inline to the Truepress Jet520. By linking the Truepress Jet520 to the JDF-enabled Trueflownet print business solution, Screen plans to create a more efficient, high-performance printing system. You can see live demonstrations of the Truepress Jet520 in the Screen Booth (#6100) at PRINT 05, September 9-15 at Chicago's McCormick Place Complex.
