New SDP Smart Tools add more automation to Mitsubishi Imaging's SDP RIP

Press release from the issuing company

September 9, 2005 -- New SDP Smart Tools is a family of workflow modules that add value to Mitsubishi Imaging's SDP RIP by automating virtually all aspects of file preparation. The tools cover functions such as PDF creation, preflighting, trapping, imposition, and CIP3 connectivity. By automating these tasks for the printers who use them, SDP Smart Tools can save time and money in the print preparation process. A key component of the Smart Tools package is the SDP Smart Manager, a client server based interface that controls the flow of jobs. This client software, for both PC and Macs, gives prepress operators the ability to manage jobs without leaving their workstations. That increases productivity by eliminating trips to multiple workstations to accomplish various workflow tasks. Advanced RIP viewer is another integrated component of the SDP Smart Manager. It allows users to preview RIPped files at their workstation with the integrated viewer, an integrated ROAM soft proofing application. “The strength of the SDP Smart Tools is that it offers smaller printers access to automated tools that reduce costs within the printing process,” explains Frances Cicogna, Marketing Director, Graphic Arts Materials. “The modularity of the system means that users can start with an entry level system and then add features as the business warrants.”
