Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. – August 31, 2005 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: A to Z Printing Company, Inc. Adds Speedmaster CD 102 to All-Heidelberg Pressroom A to Z Printing Company, Inc., based in Waukesha, Wis., recently increased efficiencies with the addition of a six-color Speedmaster CD 102 with coater. The new press was installed to complement the shop’s existing Heidelberg pressroom solutions, including an additional Speedmaster CD 102. Since the installation, the speed and high workload capacity of the new press has enabled A to Z Printing Company to downsize its press equipment. The general commercial shop produces a wide range of work, including games, puzzles, and corporate communication materials. Founded in 1923, A to Z Printing houses 200 employees and serves corporations, Fortune 500 companies and the direct mail and packaging industries. Accuform Printing & Graphics Increases Production with Printmaster QM 46 Accuform Printing & Graphics, Inc., based in Detroit, Mich., upgraded its equipment with the recent installation of a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg. The all-Heidelberg shop is using the new press to produce two-color, spot-color and multi-color work, including business cards, brochures, flyers, envelopes and catalogues. Accuform Printing & Graphics is a mid-sized, general commercial printer that services local customers including automotive companies and advertising agencies. Founded in 1969, the family-owned and operated shop houses 14 employees. Allegra Print & Imaging Increases Production with Printmaster QM 46 Allegra Print & Imaging of Pompano Beach, Fla., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 from Heidelberg to increase efficiency. The new equipment is being used to produce two-color work, including an assortment of forms and newsletters. Since the installation of the new press, the shop reports that production has increased and the quality of work has improved. Founded in 1994, Allegra Print & Imaging houses eight employees and serves clients such as cruise lines, government agencies and contractors. Art & Negative Graphics Adds New Quickmaster QM DI 46 Press Art & Negative Graphics, Inc., located in Lanham, Md., recently added a four-color Quickmaster QM DI 46 to meet growing customer demand. The press supplements the shop’s existing six-color Speedmaster CD 102. The shop is using the new four-color press to print brochures, postcards, letterhead and envelopes. Founded in 1981, the mid-sized, family-owned general commercial printer houses 21 employees. Art & Negative Graphics services a variety of local clients including associations, corporations, advertising agencies and design studios. Clements Printing Service Increases Efficiency with Prosetter 74 Clements Printing Service, located in Moultrie, Ga., recently installed a Heidelberg Prosetter 74 to increase production. The shop reports that the simple operation of the Prosetter has reduced human error and increased efficiency. Clements Printing also obtained a consumables package with the installation, including chemistry, filters and plates. Founded in 1991, Clements Printing Service is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that houses 10 employees. The shop services a wide range of clients, including local banks, schools and advertising agencies. Contra Costa County Print Shop Adds New POLAR 78X Cutter to Bindery Contra Costa County Print Shop, located in Concord, Calif., recently added a POLAR 78X cutter to update its existing finishing equipment. The new POLAR cutter has helped increase productivity and efficiency in the bindery. The in-plant shop is using the equipment to finish a variety of print work, including forms and business cards for governmental departments. Founded in 1970, Contra Costa County Print Shop houses 20 employees. Crowson Stone Installs Prinect ‘Plate-On-Demand’ and ‘MiniSpot’ Workflow Crowson Stone Printing Co., Columbia, S.C., has completed the first U.S. installation of Heidelberg’s Prinect Plate-on-Demand and Prinect MiniSpot color workflow. The new technology integrates the prepress system into the shop’s pressroom and enables press operators to control plate production directly from the company’s Speedmaster 102 press – maximizing efficiency in the shop while minimizing downtime. Crowson Stone established a reputation for innovation early, becoming the first printer in the Palmetto State to embrace offset printing. The $7 million general commercial printer provides print advertising, marketing collateral and other business communication materials to clients throughout South Carolina. East Park Printing Increases Production, Shortens Turnaround with USA B 20 Stahlfolder East Park Printing of Clemson, S.C., recently installed a first and second station USA B 20 Stahlfolder to handle increased workloads and heavier stocks. Since the installation, production has improved significantly due to the shop’s increased efficiency with right angle folding. East Park Printing uses its existing Heidelberg equipment, including a Quicksetter 300, a Printmaster 46-2 and a Quickmaster 46-4 DI Pro, in conjunction with the new folder to finish more projects in-house. Founded in 1981, East Park Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 10 employees. The shop offers four-color printing and in-house design services to clients such as local universities, manufacturers, healthcare providers and small businesses. Expedia Media LLC Installs New Quicksetter 300E Expedia Media LLC in Anaheim, Calif., recently installed a Heidelberg Quicksetter 300E imagesetter to increase productivity. The shop purchased a Heidelberg consumables package with the installation, including Saphira RA imagesetting film and chemistry. With the new Quicksetter, Expedia Media now produces film in-house, greatly reducing outside costs. Since the installation, the shop reports faster production due to the easy implementation of the Quicksetter into its workflow. Expedia Media LLC specializes in DVD manufacturing and serves a wide range of clients, including infomercial producers, drug companies and car manufacturers. Founded in 1984, the specialist shop houses 70 employees. Fort Hays State University Increases Efficiency with Printmaster QM 46 Fort Hays State University’s in-plant print shop in Hays, Kan. recently installed a Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46 to handle the bulk of its long-run two-color jobs. The new equipment is being used to produce mostly recruiting and administrative materials, including postcards, posters and brochures. The self-sufficient operation of the press allows employees to better manage their time, greatly increasing shop production and capacity while decreasing overtime. The pressroom at Fort Hays State University houses seven full-time employees and two part-time students. The shop serves the entire university community, including student organizations, academic departments and the administration. Impressions Printing Expands Capabilities with Printmaster PM 52, Prosetter 52 Impressions Printing, a small commercial print shop located in Oklahoma City, announced today that it has installed a four-color Printmaster PM 52 sheetfed press with perfector and a Prosetter 52 from Heidelberg to meet customer demand and increase efficiencies. The shop also has added Heidelberg consumables products with the Prosetter 52, including Saphira Violet aluminum plates, Saphira Violet Pro chemistry and proofing paper. Established in 1996, Impressions Printing currently houses 26 employees and services a client base of local and national accounts, including private universities, financial institutions, manufacturers and religious organizations. The recent acquisition of the new press and CtP system marks the shop’s first purchase of Heidelberg equipment. O’Neil Printing, Inc. Increases Production with New Speedmaster SM 52 O’Neil Printing, Inc. of Phoenix, Ariz. recently added a new six-color Speedmaster SM 52 with perfecting and coating systems to increase production. The new press is an upgrade from a five-color Heidelberg GTO 52 and complements the shop’s existing Heidelberg presses, including a six-color Speedmaster CD 102 and an eight-color Speedmaster 102 perfector. Since the installation, the SM 52 has increased workload capacity and produced better quality print jobs. Founded in 1908, O’Neil Printing has been an employee-owned company since 1996. O’Neil is an all-Heidelberg shop housing 80 employees and serving clients such as advertising agencies, graphic designers, corporations and franchises. Print Services Installs New POLAR 92 XT High Speed Cutter Print Services Inc., based in Olive Branch, Miss., recently installed a new POLAR 92 XT high speed cutter to increase efficiency in the bindery. The shop is using the new cutter to finish a broad range of commercial print work including letterhead, business cards and books. With the new POLAR cutter in place, the printer has seen increased productivity in the shop from the fast cutting speeds of the machine. Print Services Inc. serves a regional clientele of banks, orthopedic companies, publishers and other printers. Founded in 1990, the small, general commercial printer houses 12 employees. Quality Printing Develops Modern Workflow with Heidelberg’s Prosetter 74, Prinect Software Quality Printing recently transitioned its prepress department from film processing to computer-to-plate technology with the addition of a Prosetter 74 platesetter with MetaDimension, PrintReady and Signa software. With the new software and equipment in place, the shop already has seen increased efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and improved image quality in the prepress area. Quality Printing is located in Abilene, Texas, and serves mostly local clients, including advertising agencies, colleges and universities, and media consultants. Founded in 1954, the family-owned general commercial print shop houses 12 employees. The Scan Group Maximizes Output with Printmaster GTO 52-5 and Stahlfolder B 26 The Scan Group, Inc. recently installed a Heidelberg Printmaster GTO 52-5 and a Stahlfolder B 26. The Scan Group has experienced steady growth in its print and bindery business over the last year. These equipment additions allow for increased production capacity and flexibility, particularly for short-run projects. Along with the installation, the shop added a Heidelberg consumables package including blankets and chemistry. The five-color Printmaster GTO press complements the shop’s existing six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster SMDI. Founded in 1983, The Scan Group, Inc. is a full-service creative and production group headquartered in Waukesha, Wis. with additional regional offices in Appleton, Wis., Atlanta, and Dubuque, Iowa. USA Press Installs New Printmaster QM 46 USA Press recently increased productivity with the installation of a new two-color Printmaster QM 46. Installed alongside two older Printmaster QM 46 presses, the new press has increased production and improved efficiency with faster makereadies and a higher-quality product. The company is using the press to produce two-color print jobs including brochures, newsletters and stationary packages. USA Press is a mid-sized, general commercial printer servicing local and regional customers. Founded in 1979, the Gaithersburg, Md.-based shop houses 13 employees.
