ICS Bringing the Power of Remote Proofing to Print '05

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY; August 24, 2005 – Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), the industry leader in remote proofing, will show Print ’05 attendees the real power of monitor-based proofing when the industry’s annual trade show opens on Sept. 9th at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center. ICS recently released Remote Director 3.1, an upgraded version of its award-winning software, and will demonstrate the software, being used to produce a weekly magazine live in the company’s booth (#8716). Time Out Chicago is the Windy City’s where-to-go, what-to-do weekly, and the magazine’s production staff will be working live from the ICS booth. “Remote Director offers users the advantages of time, which is what many of us wish there was more of,” says John Sweeney, vice president of sales and marketing for ICS. “We want to show Print ’05 attendees just how our software gives them that time. With Remote Director, there’s no time, or money, spent waiting for couriers. Whether your customer is across town or across the country, Remote Director allows you to work collaboratively, in real time and on hardware already installed.” The latest upgrade to Remote Director includes a suite of tools for printers, allowing them to easily integrate Remote Director 3.1 in the pressroom, as well as a new API interface, enabling Remote Director to work with any open or JDF-compliant workflow. In the pressroom, Remote Director now offers instant navigation, with no keyboard requirement, as well as tools such as a digital magnifier, compare feature, spot color blending and an image server update. With these new capabilities, Remote Director has eliminated the last analog tool in the print production. Additionally, Remote Director’s new interface allows third party developers to create proofs, invite viewers and set permissions. Their users can send a proof to anyone with Remote Director without leaving the third party application. Remote Director customers can use the same API, to create hot folders to automate the proof creation and invitation process of display proofing, giving them the ability to configure a “hands-off” approach to Remote Director. ICS will host presentations every 30 minutes at the Remote Director Theatre, explaining the benefits of remote proofing, the simplicity of Remote Director and how it’s easily integrated into any workflow, and will give away an X-Rite Optix instrument each day of the show. “Remote proofing continues to gain acceptance in the industry and we anticipate there will be a number of show-goers who are curious about the technology and how it can benefit their operations,” added Sweeney. “We’re here to help them understand remote proofing and to educate them on how they can use its advantages to grow their businesses. Ad agencies, printers, publishers all benefit from a truly digital workflow.” To learn more about Remote Director, visit the ICS Booth #8716 during Print ’05. Additionally, Remote Director will be running live in ICS partners’ booth, including Apple Computer (#6739), Enovation Graphic Systems (#8307), GMI (#4849), GTI (#6512), Just Normlicht (#8115), Komori (#1262) and Ryobi (#2045).
