QDirect, RSA's Enterprise Output Manager Gets Promoted to Upper Management

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY, August 22, 2005 - Rochester Software Associates, Inc., a leading provider of digital document workflow solutions has enhanced QDirect, RSA's powerful Enterprise Output Manager, to deliver even more control to print center managers. "Our customers want complete control and QDirect's powerful scripting capability enables user or RSA-provided customizations to achieve just that," observed Tim Kelly, Senior Vice President at RSA. "With these latest enhancements to QDirect, print center managers have a complete view of the big picture, at-a-glance, with total control and full accounting logs." QDirect is a platform that, out-of-the-box, can provide powerful job management such as load balancing, automated or manual release and redirection of jobs, reprioritizing to name a few features. When combined with scripts, users can add unlimited features such as banner pages, filtering, MICR check verification, and more. The latest release of QDirect, 2.2.1, enables accounting reports to be generated from the client or the server and also delivers enhanced network performance. Another advantage of this release of QDirect is the enhanced QDirect protocol. Unique to RSA, the QDirect protocol enables the transfer of job ticketing attributes, along with the document, between multiple QDirect servers, in multiple locations, ensuring job accuracy. The QDirect protocol also works with M.I.S. Print and IPDSPrint, RSA's leading Print Transform solutions. The architecture of QDirect is such that all computers print to QDirect, so they only need one print driver for each type of printer. As additional printers are added to the organization, only QDirect needs to know about them. Users submit their jobs to QDirect so accurate accounting is now possible. QDirect can manually or automatically reroute jobs to printers that are available and support the requested finishing options (duplex, paper stock, etc.). The graphical user interface for QDirect is written in Java, so it runs on any client (PC, Mac, or UNIX). Administrators can be halfway around the world and redirecting jobs with QDirect! QDirect 2.2.1 is available immediately from all major print vendors.
