Kodak Improves MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone Yellow Media To Comply With Proposed GRACoL Specification

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, N.Y., August 15--Kodak helps commercial printers comply with emerging print specifications with the introduction of a new high density ("HD") yellow media donor for its MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone Proofing System. The MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone HD-GT Yellow Media expands the color gamut of the MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone system color set for improved simulation of the proposed GRACoL specification (DTR004) when used with MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone HD-GT Cyan, Magenta, and Black Media. "MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone system users who want and need to be in compliance with the emerging print specification for the commercial market will be able to do so with Kodak's new yellow donor," said Jerry Willer, Product Manager, Kodak Graphic Communications Group. "The release of this new donor provides users with an outstanding proofing match to the proposed GRACoL specification, which will satisfy the performance specifications of their customers who support this standard." MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone HD-GT Yellow Media features an increased density for an improved match to the proposed GRACoL specification (DTR004) in yellows, greens and reds. The MATCHPRINT Digital Halftone Proofing System, an IR thermal digital halftone system, is imaged on Kodak's TRENDSETTER SPECTRUM, which features a common RIP to make both plates and proofs, ensuring identical screening on the proof and the plate.
