HDP to withdraw the use of the Genesis name in it's upcoming fountain solution

Press release from the issuing company

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (May 28, 2008)...The following is a statement from Robert Danielson, president of Amerikal Products Corporation, regarding Hydro-Dynamic Products (HDP) plans to introduce a new alcohol replacement fountain solution called HDP Genesis Fount:

Earlier this month, Hydro-Dynamic Products (HDP), a subsidiary of Day International, announced plans to introduce a new alcohol replacement fountain solution called HDP Genesis Fount at the Drupa 2008 Trade Show.

Genesis® is a trademark of Amerikal Products Corporation and is registered around the world.  For nearly 20 years, Amerikal Products Corporation has been supplying the printing and packaging industries on a worldwide basis with a range of sustainable pressroom chemistries under the trade mark Genesis®.

On May 14, Amerikal‘s attorney received confirmation from  HDP that it will withdraw the use of the Genesis name, amend its publicity and make no further reference to Genesis at the forthcoming Drupa Show.

We realize HDP's recent announcement may cause confusion in the print industry and we want to ensure customers that Amerikal's line of Genesis® sustainable pressroom chemistry is not being affected.  We have not joined forces or entered into any kind of agreement with HDP to distribute our Genesis® line of products.

We appreciate Day International's immediate attention to this matter.  We were grateful for how quickly they worked to resolve the situation.
