Agfa to Feature Prepress Innovations in Live Demonstrations at Print 05

Ridgefield Park, NJ – September 2, 2005 – Agfa will be demonstrating the latest technology, ideas and strategies to improve business growth for printing companies at Print ’05 in Chicago. Everything show attendees can see and experience at Agfa’s booth is designed to help them successfully stay ahead by addressing their current needs while preparing their business for the future. Agfa will be launching innovative prepress solutions developed specifically with the needs of printers and prepress operations in mind. This includes a new line of thermal CtP platesetters, software suites, and inkjet technologies as well as a full range of expert services designed to help printers implement their technology decisions quickly and profitably. Located in booths #7900 in the Prepress Hall and #7559 in the Wide Format Pavilion, Agfa will be showing and demonstrating: •New platesetting solutions, including a new line of thermal platesetters and :Azura Chemistry-Free plates, which is in use by 300 customers worldwide •The new Digital Solutions Suites, which provide the latest technology – both hardware and software, including :ApogeeX, :Delano and :Arcadia (North America only) – to simplify the automation of The Graphic Enterprise •:Sublima XM Screening, which is now included in many versions of :ApogeeX. :Sublima has also been expanded to offer advanced screening on non-Agfa CtP engines running the :ApogeeX workflow and it also now includes lower and faster resolutions on the :Galileo •Expansion of softproofing capabilities in :Delano •Advancements in Agfa inkjet technology, including the new :Grand :Sherpa Universal AM wide format printers are being shown for the first time in North America at the booth in the Wide Format Pavilion, #7559. We’ll also be showing our new inks, media, and more •For the first time Agfa is showing The :Dotrix digital inkjet press in North America. It will be running live, showing the strength of its differentiated solutions. It features a host of new advancements, including unique inkjet applications, new Agfa inks, and more •Solutions for Packaging, including the AquaFLASH water wash plate system (North America only). “Agfa has been leading the printing industry with innovative products and services for The Graphic Enterprise, helping the printing industry do what it does best – create memorable and economical print,” said Agfa’s Tom Saggiomo, president, North America. “From :Azura to :Sublima and everything in between, Agfa’s innovation, attention to detail and dedication to the industry is unparalleled among prepress providers.” In addition to the many presentations and demonstrations going on at the Agfa booths, and the special :Apogee Users Group meeting taking place in McCormick Place, Agfa technology specialists will be speaking in various presentations throughout the show, including: •Stephen Cutler, Agfa’s Sign, Screen and Display segment marketing manager, North America, will be presenting Making the Most of Your Inkjet System from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14th, in the Wide Format Pavilion. Stephen will show how there’s money to be made from an inkjet device that you may not have considered •Steve Musselman, Agfa’s senior manager for Market Development in the Digital Solutions and Emerging Technologies group, North America, will be discussing screening technologies in Screening: the Prepress “Mutt” during Executive Outlook’s morning session on Thursday, September 8th; he’ll also be presenting at the R&E Council’s Critical Trends Breakfast on September 12th, on trends in consumables.
