Lithosol, Inc. Installs A Xeikon 5000 Digital Color Press

Press release from the issuing company

Laval, Québec & St-Laurent, Québec, August 01, 2005 – Lithosol, a highly successful commercial and corporate printer, has installed its first Xeikon 5000 digital color press in Laval, Canada. According to Mr. Serge Desjardins and André Houde of Lithosol, “We looked at all the digital color presses available in the market and decided to install a Xeikon 5000 based on its unique capabilities. The Xeikon 5000 web format – 20” wide and unlimited length – makes it a perfect fit for our large format jobs. In addition, the One-Pass-DuplexTM printing capability of the Xeikon 5000 would allow us to print on both the sides of a substrate simultaneously, thereby ensuring a perfect front-to-back registration. No other digital color press was able to satisfactorily meet these requirements.” Lithosol does a lot of high quality printing for its corporate customers and is experiencing a constant growth in jobs requiring short-run, variable data printing capabilities. The Xeikon 5000, along with its X-800 digital front-end, was just what Lithosol was looking for and more. Mr. Desjardins continues,” Short-run, variable data color printing is a no-brainer on the Xeikon system. But this press goes beyond these capabilities and also offers us amazing job size flexibility. With the Xeikon 5000 we can print almost everything for our corporate clients: from pocket folders to large banners for executive meetings.” The Xeikon 5000 is the first digital color press which really succeeds in combining the best of two worlds: top quality throughout long run-lengths and unparalleled productivity. The Xeikon 5000 also scores particularly high in terms of user friendliness and efficiency: toner can be added during a print run and press registration and calibration are automated. Xeikon’s digital front-end, the X-800, offers an enhanced toolbox for rapid and optimum workflow automation and integration. The X-800 has been developed with high productivity in mind: the controller can easily process print jobs incorporating complex graphics with variable data from over 1 million records. According to Mr. Kristof Vereenooghe, President and CEO of Punch Graphix Americas, “The Xeikon 5000 will broaden the array of Lithosol’s digital print offerings. At present, it is the only company in Canada that is able to utilize the unique capabilities of the Xeikon 5000 web technology.”
