Vertis Announces Michael Kalman As Vice President, Premedia Operations

BALTIMORE, Md. (August 1, 2005) – Vertis announced today that Michael Kalman has been promoted to vice president, premedia operations. In his new role, Kalman will direct Vertis' comprehensive premedia solutions and creative services in Minneapolis, Forté Studio, and St. Louis. Vertis' Minneapolis location is one of the company's several Premedia Centers of Excellence. The facility includes Forté, a full service creative studio delivering digital photography. Its clients are leading advertising agencies, retailers, consumer packaged goods and durable goods companies, as well as corporate clients. “Michael has 15 years experience in advertising and premedia,” said Dave Colatriano, senior vice president and general manager of premedia and direct mail for Vertis. “He has a successful track record managing operations with an emphasis on the creative aspects of graphic communications. His expertise lies in listening to our clients' needs and rallying resources to achieve the desired results.” Kalman has been with Vertis since 1991, serving in various capacities including production manager, operations manager, general manager, and facility manager on-site at American Media, Inc., one of the nation's largest media companies. He was appointed managing director of Vertis' St. Louis, Mo., facility in 2003.
