Lucid Dream Software Releases I-Trap MU with Multi-User Capability and New Pricing Model

Press release from the issuing company

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., July 22, 2005 – Lucid Dream Software, Inc., a leading provider of trapping solutions, announces the release I-Trap Multi-User (MU), a cross platform client/server implementation of the popular I-Trap software for Harlequin RIP technology. With this latest release, Lucid Dream is also adding support for three different configurations to provide price and capabilities to meet any printer’s needs. I-Trap MU was designed to provide better integration within production environments, where Mac or PC production stations need to be able to access jobs from RIP stations that could be next to the output device. “I-Trap MU provides better integration with desktop production,” says David Lewis, president of Lucid Dream Software. “We often find users trying to trap jobs on a ripping station that is running out on the production floor next to the platesetter. With I-Trap MU, users can now do this from the convenience of their desktop, no matter if it’s Mac or PC.” I-Trap MU has several new features, including: •Unlimited client stations - purchase just the server version and install as many client stations as needed. •Cross platform- I-Trap can be used interchangeably in both Macintosh OSX and PC environments and can be installed as client or server with either the Windows RIP or the Mac RIP as the server. •Fast viewing over a local network- I-Trap Viewer is able to open full resolution jobs on remote stations at blazing speed, requiring no slow down in work as jobs are viewed remotely in full color. •Full feature ink remapping- not only can spot colors be remapped to other colors or converted to process, but now they can also be deleted and re-ordered. New overprint controls have been added as well. •Enhanced support - Lucid Dream now has the ability to provide online remote access support for I-Trap to PC or Mac users, including the new Tiger 10.4 OS. I-Trap MU is currently shipping and, in order to meet the needs of printers of all sizes, is also available in three different configurations, including: •I-Trap Full Server – the full client server model that includes auto-trap and remote client stations, with a local server trapping station. •I-Trap Full – complete automatic and interactive trapping functionality on one station. •I-Trap Auto – a low cost entry for automatic in-RIP trapping, which includes a 60-day trial of I-Trap’s Full Server capability and continuing support for Ink Remapping afterwards. “I-Trap is sold through dealer and OEM channels and competitive pricing is very important in today’s market,” adds Lewis. “With three price points, users can start at any level and there is no penalty to upgrade, just the cost difference! This makes I-Trap one of the most affordable trapping products on the market.” Lucid Dream will show I-Trap MU at Print ’05 in Chicago on Sept. 9 – 15 at Booth # 6039.
