FLEXICON starts up plate production for the corrugated market

Monday, July 25, 2005

Press release from the issuing company

Halle / Westphalia. 22. July 2005. FLEXICON AG, one of the world’s leading packaging prepress service providers, is now offering its high-quality plates for the corrugated market. With this development, FLEXICON has gone one step further in satisfying the growing demands of its national and international customers. According to Flexicon’s Technical Director, Gerrit Sander, “as a result of the growing significance of outer packaging at the point of sale, there is an increasing need for high quality secondary package printing. The customer’s key requirement here is to be able to procure prepress services and plates for both primary and secondary packaging from a single source.” With the installation of an additional CtP plate imagesetter ‘Esko CDI-Advance’, in a maximum format of 1,270 x 2,032 mm and the latest DuPont Cyrel 3000 large-format production line, FLEXICON is now in a position to satisfy this demand. At its headquarters in Halle/Westphalia and its subsidiary and joint ventures in Kentucky (USA), Dalian (China) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), FLEXICON has a total of six CDI (Cyrel Digital Imager) plate imagesetters for the production of high-quality flexo plates in a large variety of sizes. For this medium-sized company which employs 200 staff worldwide, this enhancement in capacity is a continuation of its successful growth strategy. “The expansion of the product portfolio to include large-format plates for the corrugated pre- and post-print sector represents the next logical step in our bid to becoming an end-to-end service provider for the entire package printing sector”, explained Mr Sander.
