Third Cerutti Commissioned On Time At Polestar

Press release from the issuing company

Exactly two months after the second press came on stream, Polestar Sheffield has commissioned its third Cerutti machine, bringing production capacity at the plant to over 1.5 billion A4 pages per week. Phil Boynes, Operations Director at Polestar Sheffield, says: “The installation has gone well and we have been able to pull the trials forward. We are currently putting white paper through the press and will be putting ink on paper next week. We are pleased with the progress and we expect the first commercial job to be on press one week ahead of schedule.” Mike Young, Group Operations Director, adds: “The first two presses are performing very well, and are currently exceeding our expectations. The start-up of the third press is an important milestone, since it marks the end of the first phase of investment in Sheffield.” The two existing presses at Polestar Sheffield are producing contractual work for Associated Newspapers, the Telegraph Group, and IPC.
