Press release from the issuing company

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 06, 2005—HP today announced that Proven Direct, a Wisconsin-based marketing services provider, has surpassed the one million monthly impressions mark in variable-data work with the installation of an HP Indigo press 3050. The new press joins an HP Indigo press 3000; both presses are linked to HP Production Flow, which allows for seamless variable-data and Web-to-print production. The continued growth in variable-data printing with HP Indigo presses has enabled Proven Direct to earn its second-consecutive listing on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing privately held companies. “Proven Direct is leveraging the quality, flexibility and reliability of HP Indigo presses to offer services focused on client convenience and relevant, timely communications,” said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president, Indigo division, HP. “It is success stories like these that prove the effectiveness and long-term viability of high-end digital print with HP technology.” “We continue to partner with HP because of the quality of their presses and the quality of their software solutions,” said Mike Limbach, president of Proven Direct. “With HP Production Flow and our HP Indigo presses, our clients do not have to devote staff to manage their variable-data printing, and their marketing materials never become obsolete.” The HP Indigo press 3050 sets the standard for high-quality, high-volume digital printing with reliable production at speeds up to 4,000 four-color 8.5”x11”/A4 size images per hour (two-up) per hour. The press offers automatic duplexing and runs a wide variety of substrates. HP Production Flow is an integrated, open software and hardware system that helps users track, run and manage more jobs in less time with reduced costs. Direct Marketing On Demand with HP Technology Proven Direct’s Web-to-print service, Digital Marketing On Demand (Digi-MOD), incorporates customized Web interfaces and workflow to stream data through the HP Production Flow and Indigo presses. Customers for the service are typically manufacturer/dealership partnerships in need of marketing materials that can be personalized for each dealer’s specific needs. Through the Digi-MOD online offering, customers choose the appropriate images for a job from a client database, enter their text, choose a mailing list for the final product, and proof their document in real time. Jobs are then automatically routed for production on Proven Direct’s HP Indigo presses. Recent jobs include covers for a publication serving the real estate market. With Proven Direct’s digital printing capabilities, real estate agents are able to gain more marketing value by having their names, photos and personalized information on both sides of the cover. Run lengths for this client are as large as 100,000, with Proven Direct producing 1,000 different versions of approximately 100 each. Customer interest in automated workflows for high-quality personalized print has driven demand at Proven Direct. Currently, the firm has in excess of 400 customers, many of which utilize the Digi-MOD service. Manufacturer clients have cited the eight-year-old company’s capabilities as important recruiting tools when they look to sign new dealers. Limbach’s firm also serves banks and health care organizations which use the commercial-quality printing of HP Indigo presses to efficiently create short-run and personalized documents used at different branches and locations.
