Inkjet Specialist Joins Agfa's Graphic Systems Newly-formed Sign, Screen and Display Segment

Ridgefield Park, NJ – July 5, 2005 – Agfa’s Graphic Systems business group has added an industry specialist to support the company’s recent entries into the wide format printing market. Steve Cutler has joined Agfa’s team as marketing manager for the newly formed Sign, Screen and Display segment. He will focus on the company’s growing line of inkjet printing solutions, including the new :Sherpa Universal AM, :Anapurna 100, inkjet media and ink, and the new universal printheads launched at the recent Fespa event in Germany. “It is exciting to be coming to Agfa at a time when the company has just released so many brand-new products in the wide format imaging market,” Cutler said. “The new systems, combined with Agfa’s current range of inkjet solutions, give the company a formidable product portfolio and technology investment that position us for growth in the future.” Recently, Agfa launched several new inkjet systems, including the company’s largest wide-format inkjet system, the:Anapurna 100. Also launched at the Fespa show was the M-Press, a high-speed, flatbed inkjet system that uses Agfa's new :Anuvia UV curable ink and the next-generation Universal Print Heads (UPH). Also newly added to the product lineup is the :Grand Sherpa Universal AM. At 65-and 90-inch widths, it is twice as fast as current :Grand Sherpa Universal models thanks to the use of Agfa's new mild solvent inks, which provide vivid colors, fast drying times, improved scratch resistance and suitability for a wide range of uncoated media. “Steve could not have picked a better time to join our team. With such an exciting array of new products, Agfa’s commitment to the wide format market has never been stronger,” said Agfa’s Denis Griff, director, Sign, Screen and Display segment, North America. “His years of experience in the industrial ink jet market will add to our potential for growth in this area, a segment that has unique abilities to contribute to our customers’ bottom lines,” Griff added. Prior to joining Agfa, Cutler was technical design account manager for Charrette, a leading supplier of printing and imaging technologies for design professionals. Prior to that, Cutler was employed in various positions for Océ - USA, Inc., IKON Office Solutions and A.B. Dick Company.
