Top Producers Gain Significant Revenues through GPO Term Contracts

Press release from the issuing company

Chambersburg, PA June 20, 2005 - New figures from the e-LYNXX Corporation's Government Printing Sales division show that 1,695 U.S. firms collectively obtained $178,200,397 of work from June 1, 2004 through May 31, 2005 through orders placed under GPO programs. Of that total, 195 companies individually obtained amounts of volume ranging from $100,000 to almost $16.4 million, while an additional 487 printers added $10,000 to $100,000 in volume through GPO program work. "Many printers are familiar with the GPO's daily bidding of one-time purchases and seek these jobs to fill open capacity," according to Deborah A. Snider, Vice President at e-LYNXX. "What is frequently bypassed by printers for a number of reasons are the term contracts, even though these can supply a strong base of profitable work." Snider says the complexity of the solicitations, the requirement to submit rather detailed bids, and printers' fear of commitment to contracts that can last a year or longer are among the reasons more do not actively pursue GPO Programs. "What printers should take notice of is that orders from Programs are more than twice as plentiful as the single job solicitations," Snider adds. "Thus, the shear amount of available work under Programs should be enough of an enticement for printers to try and seek these awards." During this same period, 89,209 order were produced by private sector printers through awarded programs compared to 36,544 orders placed individually through jacket bidding.
