Cory Packaging Inc. Acquires Assets of Tampa-Based Master Packaging Inc.

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 10 -- Cory Packaging Inc. today announces that it has acquired the assets of 44-year-old Master Packaging Inc., one of the original flexographic printers/converters in the southern U.S. The move will make Cory Packaging a full-service international printing and packaging supplier. Under the terms of purchase, Master Packaging Inc.'s Tampa, Fla. facility will continue to manufacture flexible packaging for a wide range of industries, including snack foods, fresh produce, baked goods, coffee, lawn/garden, condiments, frozen foods, candy, pet food, meats/poultry and pharmaceuticals. The company will become a DBA of Cory Packaging Inc. The combination of Master Packaging and Cory Packaging makes for an impressive set of core competencies. In addition to sophisticated printing and laminating capabilities, the company now offers in-house computer-to-plate technology, full in-house pre-press and graphic design services, and in-house pouch-making, bag-making and slitting. Cory Packaging also plans to invest in additional technology for its Rochester and Tampa locations, with further capital slated for training the two sites' 200 employees on new processes and equipment. Looking to the future, Cory Packaging's CEO Joe Madigan said the company plans to cultivate expertise in higher-end laminations and develop and offer stand-up pouches, along with high-end, gravure-quality printing on the flexographic presses. "Adding Master Packaging to the Cory umbrella will greatly increase our ability to provide high-quality flexible packaging and service to our customer base," Madigan stated. "Thanks to a loyal and growing base of customers and vendors, we are looking forward to continued growth."
