NELA expands business - adds production space and hires new sales & assembly personnel

Oakdale, MN – June 9, 2005 – New production space as been added to the current NELA facility in Oakdale, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. Due to an increased level of business, the company has added 20,000 ft2 of production and product support space. Additionally, several personnel have been added to support NELA’s customer service and manufacturing. David Klein, President of NELA: The increased demand for our state of the art technology and products allowed us the opportunity to expand. In order to assure our customers that delivery of our American manufactured products is within their time frame requirements, we added the space and personnel to our customer service and manufacturing departments to support our growing customer base. NELA is committed to the American marketplace as a fully integrated sales, engineering, manufacturing and service company. Some of the recent orders which will be all manufactured in Oakdale, MN are: Lakeland Ledger, Lakeland, FL A September installation of one (1) NELA VCP vision bender inline with two (2) Agfa Advantage CtP plate imaging lines. South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Ft. Lauderdale, FL A September installation of two (2) NELA VCP vision benders inline with existing conventional plate imaging lines. Mount Rose Publishing Company, Carson City, NV One (1) NELA VCP connected to two (2) Agfa Advantage CTP devices with barcode reader and four (4) position stackers introducing a new stacker design. Here plates will be rotated before stacking so that the lead of the plate is always stacked first. This new stacker design has also a smaller foot print. Greeley Tribune, Greeley, CO One (1) NELA VCP connected to two (2) Agfa Advantage CTP devices with barcode reader and (2) two position stackers. Punch/bender is able to punch and bend plates for a Goss Community and Goss Urbanite. Spokesman Review, Spokane, WA Two (2) NELA VCP vision punch/bender in connection with two conventional plate exposer units. Both benders are ready for future CTP implementation. The benders can handle 55" single and double plates and are ready for 50" web. Register Guard, Eugene, WA One (1) NELA VCP in connection with two (2) Agfa Advantage CTP devices. San Jose Mercury News, San Jose, CA One (1) NELA VCP for 50" and 54" single wide plates. The Western conventional plate exposer unit will deliver 50" and 54" inch wide plates and the punch/bender will switch automatically to the right plate size and punch the right press notch configuration into the plate. Sauk Valley, Sterlin, IL NELA converted the Goss Urbanite press at Sauk Valley with their tool less look up and the register is tighter than ever before. Start up and make-ready time went down significantly. The Korean Central Daily in LA and Express Times in Easton, PA are also converted to the tool-less look-up. Argus Leader (Gannett) Sioux Falls, SD One (1) Nela VCP in connection with (2) two KPG Newssetter CTP devices. The NELA plate loader will separate plates from slipsheets and deliver plates into both CTP devices.
