Press release from the issuing company

Houston, Texas – Muller Martini is continuously collaborating with growing businesses throughout the printing, binding and graphic arts industries, providing technologically-advanced print finishing equipment and unparalleled expertise that help make profitable growth possible. Such is the case with Signature Media Solutions, a full service media communications firm and sheet-fed printer of top quality brochures, annual reports and posters. Signature Media Solutions is currently an $8 million operation and the company has its sights set on reaching $20 million over the next four years. Recently, Signature Media installed a Muller Martini Presto saddle stitcher. “The Presto can more than handle our growth,” said Dave Dunphy, Vice President of Signature Media Solutions. “Presto can take us there.” Before installing its Muller Martini Presto saddle stitcher, Signature outsourced all of its binding. Now, the company expects huge savings in time and significant bottom-line enhancements. With its automated menu-guided PLC controls, the Presto is extremely user-friendly and enables fast makereadies and changeovers. Furthermore, the Presto stitcher can process at a lightening quick 9,000 cycles per hour, which results in incredibly fast throughput. Finishing quality was also a determining factor in Signature’s choice of the Presto stitcher. “The cover feeder is phenomenal, eliminating the need to letterpress score and fold off line makes a big difference,” continued Mr. Dunphy. In addition to the key performance capabilities of the Presto stitcher, Signature Media Solutions also chose Muller Martini for its incomparable resources. “Muller Martini is the most dependable and has the most experience,” said Mr. Dunphy. The versatile Presto saddle stitcher can handle projects ranging in size from 8 1/4” x 11 3/4” to 4 1/8” x 5 7/8”, enabling the cost-effective creation of a broad variety of different size books. Furthermore, the Presto stitcher operates in 1:1 or 1:2 modes, providing the capability to run difficult signatures or to maintain the highest speed efficiency when loading bulky projects. Other important benefits of the Presto stitcher include renowned Muller Martini flying stitching heads to assure precise stitching and to reduce wear, as well as caliper and missing stitch detector technology to further assure optimum quality. The compact, economical Presto saddle stitcher also features an in-line three-knife trimmer along with an efficient compensating stacker, and, it offers the advantages of a high/low folio, gripper and suction opening, and flat loading pockets.
