ORIS Color Tuner 5.4 brings new capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

HAINBURG, April 22, 2008 – CGS Publishing Technologies International has added powerful functions to the new ORIS Color Tuner version such as iterative spot color optimization, use of the embedded measurement device in HP DesignJet Z printers, and support for the latest Canon printers.

Spot color handling in ORIS Color Tuner 5.4 includes a new iterative optimization function. Users are guided through the optimization process by a software wizard. In a one-step process, all spot colors are optimized by repeatedly measuring colors and calculating the spot color table. This function not only optimizes solid values but also spot color halftones, not only solid values.

ORIS Color Tuner also supports the Eye-One spectrophotometer embedded in the HP DesignJet printer models Z6100, Z3100, and Z210. This feature is essential for Remote Proofing applications. The embedded measurement device can be used for automatic printer calibration, proof verification and the creation of reference printer profiles.

Ink limiting can now be specified separately for every primary, secondary and tertiary color. Using these detailed settings a larger color space can be achieved with certain proofing papers, above all if nanoporous coated proofing substrates such as ORIS PearlProof are used. These substrates can also reduce bleeding and other unwanted effects.

In addition, ORIS Color Tuner 5.4 supports all of the latest Canon imagePROGRAF printer models such as iPF 9100, iPF 8100, iPF 9000s, and iPF 8000s.
