Ricoh Corporation Aligns With Levi, Ray & Shoup To Help Streamline Output Management

Press release from the issuing company

West Caldwell, NJ, May 18, 2005 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS), a marketplace leader in enterprise output management, has joined Ricoh’s Alliance Program. Together, Ricoh and LRS provide cost effective, turnkey solutions to handle the output management requirements for a customer’s printing environment. Many enterprises have multiple platforms from which documents originate, posing challenges and security risks when delivering such documents to a variety of internal and external users. Established in 1981, LRS provides industry-leading software for capturing documents from multiple platforms, managing them, and delivering them to diverse network destinations quickly, efficiently, and securely. LRS Output Management solutions, which work on z/OS, UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, provide Ricoh customers with an affordable, single-vendor solution to handle their output management requirements. These solutions reduce costs and increase flexibility, enabling companies to route output from legacy and open systems applications to Ricoh production and distributed multifunction printers. “By welcoming Levi, Ray & Shoup as a Ricoh Alliance Member, Ricoh continues to bolster its Alliance Program and service offerings,” said Wayne Mize, vice president of solutions marketing division for Ricoh Corporation. He added, “Ricoh looks forward to working with LRS as our relationship will open the door to new customers who are seeking a single source solution for managing their company’s document and information production and distribution.” A wide variety of Ricoh printers and multifunction products (MFPs) are compatible with the LRS solutions using VTAM Printer Support (VPS) or VPSX. Developed to deliver legacy and open systems output to printers across the enterprise, VPS and VPSX software have evolved into solutions that help customers manage document delivery to a wide variety of destinations throughout an organization. The software manages and delivers output to Ricoh devices, converting legacy data into the format that enables Ricoh devices to meet customer requirements. These solutions transmit print data via TCPIP using bi-directional communication between Ricoh devices and the LRS software to provide assured delivery and unequalled document management for print operations. LRS software can deliver documents to printers, fax servers, email addresses, Web browsers, and many other destinations. Its full collection of optional features enable assured document delivery and automatic recovery from printer errors to help administrators manage their fleet more efficiently while providing increased customer satisfaction. Additionally, printer definition keywords provide flexible management and control and the ability to select the most cost effective destination. Ricoh’s Alliance Program encourages leading software companies, content management systems integrators, and consulting companies to work together with Ricoh to provide innovative and effective software, digital imaging and content/document management solutions for the business community. There are two divisions within the Alliance Program, the Strategic Alliance Program and the Technology Alliance Program. LRS has joined the Technology Alliance Program, which is comprised of third party software companies who specialize in niche solution offerings that complement Ricoh’s hardware and software technologies.
