Stevenson, The Color Company Installs Second Mitsubishi Press

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Press release from the issuing company

CINCINNATI - Since 1926, Stevenson, The Color Company has maintained a standard of printing excellence unmatched in the industry. Recently, the company made a strategic move to reach new heights, with the installation of a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press. The six-color, 40-inch model is Stevenson's second Mitsubishi press. It joined a seven-color, 51-inch press installed in 2000. A fourth-generation, family-owned business, Stevenson first opened its doors in the 1920s, providing camera separations to area printers. Today, the company offers a full spectrum of prepress, printing and postpress services. Its printed products include three-dimensional packaging, book covers, point-of-purchase displays, fine art and signage. The company decided to purchase the Diamond 3000S because it needed more capacity. "It's custom built with the ability to run Sun Chemical's Hy-Bryte UV inks and coating," pointed out Jeff Stevenson, president and CEO. "The new press also gives us the ability to print on nonporous substrates, such as foil, plastic and styrene." Mitsubishi offers Diamond Series sheetfed presses in 28-inch through 56-inch formats in configurations up to 12 colors. Fast job makeready, ease of operation and high throughput characterize the entire line of Diamond Series presses. Mitsubishi is a leader in the implementation of the Job Definition Format specification. Integrating Diamond Series presses into a JDF workflow enables printers to decrease waste, accelerate job changeover, add value to the finished product and improve competitiveness.
