BOWE BELL + HOWELL demonstrating at AIIM ON DEMAND

Press release from the issuing company

(Durham, N.C., May 13, 2005) BOWE BELL + HOWELL, the industry leader in document processing solutions, will showcase their versatile line of DemandWorksTM high-volume document finishing systems in Booth 2525 at the 2005 AIIM ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition at the Philadelphia Convention Center, May 17 through May 19. ON DEMAND is North America’s premier conference and exposition dedicated to the technologies that personalize, manage, print and deliver content. As a major provider of automated production solutions, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL is pleased to demonstrate their cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions at this prestigious event. “We’re always pleased to exhibit at ON DEMAND because it allows us an opportunity to meet with and listen to our customers, and to demonstrate how our products, solutions and service continually evolve to add even more value to their business,” said Mark Van Gorp, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL vice president, business development. One of the major draws on the exposition floor is sure to be BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s DemandWorks Biathlon. Widely recognized as the world’s fastest wrapper, the Biathlon can wrap up to 30,000 sets per hour, far exceeding the competition’s maximum rate of 18,000 sets per hour. Offering flexible feeding technology and the capability to switch from film or paper wrapping with a simple changeover, the Biathlon’s versatility and speed simply cannot be matched. Since its debut seven months ago, the Biathlon has also become the industry’s fastest selling wrapper by dollar volume. The latest DemandWorks Booklet Maker offers a flexible near-line solution that is ideal for the print-on-demand environment. When used with print-on-demand technology, the Booklet Maker can create personalized, individual booklets containing different content and varying page counts within the same job run, all at speeds up to 25 percent faster than the previous model. Visitors to Booth 2525 can also see the DemandWorks Intelligent Multi-Bin Feeder (IMBF) collation system. For projects involving collation of large volumes of pre-printed materials from a wide selection, the system offers the optimal automated, intelligent solution. The IMBF system is based on highly reliable, efficient and compact tower-collator technology integrated with an advanced, flexible document-reading and control system. The flexible IMBF system is ideal for short-run or fulfillment applications and can collate up to 10,000 sets per hour. It readily supports 10 to 40 input bins, and can be customized to accommodate even more. For letter shops, direct mail and service bureau operations looking to expand mailing capabilities, the Phillipsburg Mark II mail inserting system offers reliability and durability. This industry-renowned inserter can be equipped with the appropriate feeder to handle either cut-sheet or continuous-form inputs. The Phillipsburg Mark II can also easily handle folding and assembly operations typically done offline. By integrating an input feeder and BÖWE BELL + HOWELL JETVisionTM Control System, the Phillipsburg Mark II can manage complex inserting jobs with variable set sizes and multiple fold types. The JETVision Control System provides a flexible, easy-to-use machine operating interface that enables the inserter to process a wider range of applications. ON DEMAND provides the opportunity for industry experts to share their knowledge and insight with attendees. This year, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL is represented by Lenny Neifert, product manager, DemandWorks Advanced Automated Solutions, and Jerry DeRome, DemandWorks executive director. Neifert will be participating in a panel discussion entitled “Attaining ‘Super Efficiency’ in the Corporate Data Center/Transaction Market” on Wed., May 18. DeRome will lend his expertise to the panel discussion on “Lights Out Manufacturing: The Back End,” also on May 18. BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s Scanner Division will also be showcasing their latest products in Booth 425 at AIIM ON DEMAND.
