Agfa's Interface Magazine Wins Prestigious Business Marketing Award

Press release from the issuing company

Ridgefield Park, NJ – May 9, 2005 – The Business Marketing Association (BMA) of New Jersey has recognized Agfa’s customer-focused technology publication, Interface, for excellence. Interface was honored in the “External Magazine” category. BMA President Greg Padley and The Wall Street Journal’s director of advertising services, Kirk Carr, presented the award at the BMA’s 10th Annual Impact Awards Gala on April 19th, 2005 at the Basking Ridge Country Club. Rosemarie Monaco, Interface’s editor and president of Group M Inc., and Agfa’s Susan Witter, Interface’s U.S. editor and the marketing director for Graphic Systems, North America, accepted the award at the event. “Our editorial board has prevented Interface from becoming a typical company brochure, which is the usual fate of most corporate magazines. With the focus on the reader, Interface has become one of the most valued customer publications around the world,” said Agfa’s Marc Verbiest, worldwide public relations manager for Graphic Systems, who also serves as Interface’s managing editor. The goal is to provide readers with information that will help them grow their businesses, including articles on technical trends, user profiles and marketing strategy. The Interface committee, which decides on the editorial direction of the magazine, includes representatives from Agfa UK, Germany, Spain, France, North America, Belgium (HQ) and Group M, a marketing and PR agency. “We get requests from editors all around the world to reprint Interface articles in their own publications. Among the most popular is the marketing strategy series,” Verbiest said. Interface is published in 11 languages with a worldwide circulation of 140,000 in print. It is read by prepress and printing companies around the world. Those who are interested can download issues for free or subscribe to the print version online at www.agfa.com.
