ATLANTA--April 29, 2005-- TAPPI introduces Troubleshooting Print Defects, a new multi-part virtual seminar series developed by industry expert Nancy Plowman. Starting with foundation knowledge and moving through testing and troubleshooting techniques, this training helps address and tackle print defects. The series kicks off with Introduction to the Printing Process on May 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. U.S. EST. Once participants have completed this session, they will be able to identify the different printing processes, their mechanics and the demands of the inks and printing substrates. Other upcoming sessions include: -- The Color Story, June 8 -- Printing Plates and Screen Techniques, June 22 -- The Offset Printing Unit: Ink, Fountain Solution and Blankets, July 6 -- Inks, July 20 -- Additional sessions will be added throughout the year. These programs are appropriate for mill and plant managers, operations managers, engineers, researchers, lab managers and technical managers at paper mills; and customer service, sales, technical managers and printers from industry suppliers. With TAPPI virtual seminars, companies and individuals can determine which sessions to bring to their sites, and then decide who attends. Once a session is selected, attendance is unlimited. This flexible format allows each site to customize the learning experience based on their specific needs. Each hour-long session is presented live via telephone and computer.
