Xerox Offers HP Customers New Lower Cost, Higher Yield Printing Cartridge

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--April 27, 2005-- Xerox Corporation has launched a new competitive printing cartridge specifically designed for Hewlett-Packard LaserJet black-and-white printers, delivering more printed pages at a cost that is up to 30 percent lower than HP cartridges. The cartridge is the latest addition to the Xerox "It's Compatible" line of toner cartridges, which now has 19 HP compatible products. The cartridge can be used in the HP LaserJet 9050, 9000 and 9040 printers targeted to office workgroups and entry-level production printing environments. Each cartridge contains a microchip that supports HP "smart print" functions, enabling the printer to automatically recognize the cartridge and indicate when toner is low, as well as how many prints remain before the cartridge needs to be replaced. "Xerox innovation and world-class research help us stay ahead of the game. We offer replacement cartridges nearly as fast as HP introduces printers," said Nancy Rees, senior vice president, Xerox Supplies Business Group. "We will continue to keep pace with HP product introductions and offer lower-cost and high-quality replacement cartridges to cover a broad range of LaserJet printers." All Xerox "It's Compatible" products have a one-year, 100 percent performance guarantee or the price of the cartridge will be refunded. Consistent with Xerox's commitment to responsible and environmental business practices, each product box contains a prepaid postage label that allows customers to send used cartridges back to Xerox to be recycled. The Xerox replacement cartridge for the HP LaserJet 9050, 9000 and 9040 is available immediately in the United States and Canada and will be available in late May in Europe. The online price is $188.99, and the cartridge is available for purchase at www.xerox.com/supplies as well as through Xerox direct sales representatives, authorized sales agents, resellers, dealers and concessionaires.
