Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. – April 25, 2005 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: CCL Label Inc. Adds POLAR 137 XT to Bindery CCL Label Inc. of Memphis, Tenn. recently installed a POLAR 137 XT cutter with an RA Jogger and a 130-5 Transomat unloader to upgrade equipment and increase productivity. The shop is using the new postpress equipment to finish small books measuring up to 5 x 7 inches in size. CCL Label has served the packaging promotional and pharmaceutical industry for more than 50 years, with plants located throughout North America and Europe. The company designs and prints a wide range of high-quality paper and film, including pressure sensitive, in-mold, shrink sleeve, expanded content, Spinformation rotating labels and printed promotions. The Memphis, Tenn. facility houses 150 employees. Cockrell Printing Company Expands Capabilities with Speedmaster CD 74 Cockrell Printing Company, based in Fort Worth, Texas, recently installed a six-color Speedmaster CD 74 sheetfed press with coater to expand capabilities. The new press is the most recent addition to the shop’s all-Heidelberg pressroom. Founded in 1964, Cockrell Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer. With 92 employees, the full-service shop caters to local advertising agencies, graphic designers, publishers and manufacturers as well as educational, healthcare and cultural institutions. Collins Digital Imaging Inc. Installs Heidelberg Four-Color Press, CtP Technology Collins Digital Imaging Inc., a full-service commercial print shop and digital photography studio located in Atlanta, recently installed a four-color Printmaster PM 52 press and a Prosetter 52 computer-to-metal plate (CtP) system. Collins Printing is using its new equipment to produce brochures and point-of-purchase materials. The shop services clients ranging from small businesses and local academic institutions to Fortune 500 companies, all located in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The recent Heidelberg installation coincides with the 34th anniversary of the business. Galley Printing Installs New Sheetfed, Prepress Equipment from Heidelberg Galley Printing, located in Brunswick, Ohio, recently installed a five-color Speedmaster CD 74 with coater and a Prosetter 74 SCL to increase productivity of the shop. Currently, the press is being used to produce fliers, posters, direct mail pieces, coupons and other materials. Founded in 1968, Galley Printing is a mid-sized trade printer that services a local client base and houses 35 loyal employees. Garman Printing Co. Adds Prosetter 74 to All-Heidelberg Shop Garman Printing recently added a Prosetter 74 to its all-Heidelberg shop to ensure it had the latest equipment for producing four- and five-color marketing and advertising materials. With the addition of the new Prosetter, Garman was able to make a seamless transition from film to plates and has seen a noticeable improvement in image quality. The company is able to produce up to 15 plates per hour on the new platesetter. Based in East Chicago, Ind., Garman Printing is a mid-sized company that produces high-quality collateral for healthcare companies, financial institutions, advertising firms and universities. Gunn Printing & Lithography Increases Production Speed with New POLAR 115 X Gunn Printing & Lithography recently installed a POLAR 115 X high-speed cutter to increase capacity in its bindery. Since the installation, the Tampa, Fla.-based printer has seen a significant improvement in production speed and now is able to turn jobs around faster to address the needs of its customers. With the ability to complete customer jobs faster, the company now can meet tight deadlines for projects ranging from booklets and periodicals to brochures and catalogues. A family-owned and operated business that has been well respected in the Tampa area since the early 1970s, Gunn Printing specializes in high-quality commercial printing. The company houses 15 employees, including original founder Clark Gunn and sons Mike and Pat Gunn. Independent Printing Installs Heidelberg Stitchmaster ST 270 Independent Printing, based in Daytona Beach, Fla., recently installed a Stitchmaster ST 270 to increase speed and efficiency in the shop. After a quick and seamless installation, the Stitchmaster already has significantly increased the speed at which the company can produce magazines and calendars for its customers. The machine even automates the hole punching of calendars, eliminating another step from the stitching and binding process and saving the company valuable time and money. Founded in 1951, Independent Printing has approximately 35 employees and specializes in a variety of premium printing services ranging from design to bindery. Neuform Graphics Inc. Adds Printmaster QM 46 to Pressroom Neuform Graphics, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 sheetfed press to upgrade equipment. The new system is being used to produce stationery, postcards, business forms and other materials. Since the installation, the shop is running twice as many jobs per day due to the automatic plate loaders and quick setup on the two-color press. Neuform Graphics is a small, family-owned and operated general commercial print shop with more than 15 years of industry experience. With six employees, the shop produces four-color work and stationery for Fortune 100 companies. McCarty Printing Reaps Benefits from New Speedmaster CD 74 and POLAR Cutter McCarty Printing has added two Heidelberg machines to its nearly all-Heidelberg shop with the addition of a new Speedmaster CD 74 six-color with coater and a POLAR 115 XT high-speed cutter. The Erie, Penn.-based commercial printer specializes in the production of high-end materials such as catalogues, calendars, booklets and brochures. The new installations were chosen to increase capacity in the shop, give McCarty a competitive edge in the marketplace and ensure that the company had the latest equipment to deliver results to its customers. Since the installation of the Speedmaster, McCarty has been able to cut makeready times in half even though all employees have not been fully trained on the machine. The new POLAR has helped the company turn customer jobs around in a much shorter timeframe than before. In business since 1918 and under the same family ownership since 1954, McCarty Printing houses 70 employees. The company purchased its first Heidelberg in the 1960s. Millenium Graphics Inc. Installs Two POLAR 137 Cutters Millenium Graphics Inc., based in Norwood, Mass., recently installed two POLAR 137 high-speed cutters for enhanced quality and performance. The new machines have proven beneficial to the shop, having increased speed and efficiency. Millenium Graphics is a high-end commercial printer specializing in a variety of commercial print jobs such as postcards, mailers and brochures. Founded in 2000, Millenium Graphics Inc. is a $30 million company with 110 employees. PDQ Printing and Copy, Inc. Adds New POLAR 78 X to Expanded Shop PDQ Printing and Copy, Inc. introduced a POLAR 78 X high-speed cutter to its recently-expanded shop based in New Port, R.I. The high-quality commercial print shop moved production to a space that measures twice the size of its original area in February, opening up the shop for equipment additions. With the new POLAR in place, PQD Printing and Copy has benefited from improved workflow as well as an increase in productivity due to the programming feature of the machine. In business for more than 25 years, PDQ Printing and Copy employees 11 people for producing all types of commercial print jobs for its loyal customer base. Press America Inc. Installs Remarketed Speedmaster SM 74 from Heidelberg Press America Inc. of Elk Grove Village, Ill., recently installed a remarketed Speedmaster SM 74 with perfector and coater to increase capacity. Currently, the six-color press is being used to produce marketing collateral and direct mail pieces. Press America is a mid-sized, general commercial printer that serves a loyal customer base of corporate clients. With more that 25 years of experience in the industry, the privately-owned shop houses 40 employees and runs two shifts daily. PS Graphics Inc. Increases Productivity with Printmaster QM 46 PS Graphics, located in Lakewood, Ohio, recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg. The all-Heidelberg shop is using the new sheetfed equipment to produce one- and two-color products such as business cards, newsletters and envelopes. Since the installation of its second Printmaster QM 46, the shop has eliminated overtime and noted an improvement in quality. Originally founded in 1963, PS Graphics is a small, general commercial printer that was purchased by the current owners in 1989. With four employees, the family-owned and operated shop services a local client base of political campaigners and other printers. Tom’s Printing Company Increases Capacity with POLAR 92 X Cutter Tom’s Printing Company, an all-Heidelberg shop located in Sacramento, Calif., recently installed a POLAR 92 X cutter with a jogger and scale. The new postpress equipment is being used to finish brochures, fliers and letterhead. Since the installation, the shop has increased capacity and improved its workflow. Tom’s Printing Company is a mid-sized general commercial printer. The family-owned and operated shop has been servicing a wide variety of clients for more than 44 years.
