Sun Chemical Backs Polestar Sheffield with Round the Clock Ink Supply Service

London - April 22, 2005 -- Sun Chemical, the world's foremost manufacturer of inks and pigments, has teamed with Polestar, Europe's largest independent printing company, to implement a round the clock, computer controlled ink supply programme for the new 25 acre Polestar printing facility in Sheffield. A remote controlled telemetric system is required to ensure Polestar's massive 3.88mm wide Cerutti rotogravure presses receive Sun Chemical's High Reduction Series publication gravure inks. Sun Chemical engineers monitor a sophisticated storage and distribution system straight to the presses via eleven 30-tonne tanks and when the plant is in full operation will schedule tanker deliveries to site six days a week. Polestar Sheffield has its first 3.88 metre wide Cerutti up and running and the second press is under installation. When completed Sun Chemical will be supplying ink tonneage to the Sheffield site at the rate of one to two full tankers every day.
