Visitors to the ”Books for Kids” booth (#3801) at this year’s OnDemand Digital Printing & Publishing show will be able to see first-hand how professionally bound books can be created quickly and economically in one pass through a fully-integrated book production system. Plus, local children will also benefit, because the books that are created on the show floor will be donated to Philadelphia-area schools. Show attendees can see the speed, productivity and business opportunities for Book-On-Demand production right before their eyes, as blank rolls of paper are fed into one end of a digital OnDemand system and completely finished bound books come out the other end. A built in measuring station utilizes laser technology to acquire the dimensions of the in-coming book block. The electronic book size data is used to adjust the length, width and thickness settings of the binder. The result – the machine literally makereadies itself.
