KPG Simplifies Color Management With New Kodak Colorflow Custom Color Tools

Press release from the issuing company

Norwalk, Connecticut, USA — Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) announces the availability of Kodak Colorflow Custom Color Tools v3.1, a powerful tool for matching color across a variety of input, display and output devices. The software is the premier application in the marketplace for ICC profile customization. “In today’s digital environment, commercial printers, prepress facilities, publishers and photographers must be able to deliver unsurpassed digital image quality across all output requirements of their customer,” said Jerry Willer, Worldwide Product Manager, Proofing, KPG. “This software makes it easy for users to optimize the color performance of an entire workflow by tuning the color of each component device.” The Kodak Colorflow Custom Color Tools v3.1 software delivers maximum color management capability when combined with other KPG proofing, digital color printing and workflow products. For example, users can employ the software to create a Selective Color Edit device link for the Kodak Approval Digital Proofing System; modify the Look profile used by Kodak digital cameras and KPG MatchFlow ImageMapper so that the input profile is built to preferred aim values; and modify the output profile for more accurate proof simulation via the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System – LCD, or RealTimeProof. The power of the software comes from its simplicity. Users edit a profile the same way they would edit an image, since the edits are defined using Photoshop’s extensive and familiar editing tools. “Prepress managers using the Kodak Colorflow Custom Color Tools v3.1 can deliver unsurpassed digital image quality while meeting all output requirements of their customer,” said Willer. “This results in operational efficiencies, enhanced turnaround time and increased profitability for single or multiple sites within the company and across commercial partner systems.”
