Urban Design & Print Ltd. Chooses Agfa's Workflow Software and Chemistry-free CtP

Press release from the issuing company

Harrogate, UK – Northprint – 19 April 2005 – Agfa announced today that Urban Design & Print, a leading provider of creative printing solutions in the UK, has signed a contract with Litho Supplies to purchase Agfa's :Apogee workflow management software, the :Acento 4-up thermal CtP system and :Azura chemistry-free thermal plates. Urban Design & Print has thirty-two employees and provides in-house design, production and finishing services for more than 5,000 customers. The company formerly operated a film-based workflow, but after substantial business growth, was ready to switch to CtP. The new Agfa prepress system, which eliminates chemical plate processing from the workflow, is expected to increase production capabilities and reduce the costs associated with waste removal. "As soon as we had the demonstration the decision was made," said Simon Abel, Managing Director at Urban Design & Print. "We've gone for the package including Agfa's :Apogee workflow solution. This will mean faster set up times for both our four and five colour presses, increase in production capacity plus significant reduction in disposable waste." Litho Supplies, a leading distributor of consumables and equipment for the graphic arts market in the UK, played an important role in supporting Urban Design & Print during its search for CtP. "We are pleased that Urban Design & Print has decided to bring the benefits of Agfa's chemistry-free processing to its CtP workflow," said Agfa's Richard Barham, CtP sales and marketing manager, worldwide. "With its simplicity, high-quality imaging capabilities, and excellent press behaviour, :Azura is changing the world of prepress, one printer at a time."
