High-Performance Mitsubishi 40-Inch Press Answers Digital Color World's Need For Speed

Press release from the issuing company

SUN VALLEY, Calif. — Digital Color World, a printing finishing company, has installed a new Mitsubishi Diamond 3000LS sheetfed press. Production on the six-color, 40-inch model, which is rated at 16,000 sheets per hour, began in early October 2004. "Speed, fast turnaround and short makeready times were among the listing of capabilities Digital Color World required in a new sheetfed press," said Chris Janikian, plant manager. The Mitsubishi product provides all this and more, which allowed Digital Color World to replace two older presses. The Diamond 3000LS is known for its fast job changeovers. High-performance preset systems, remote control of frontlay register and remote-controlled adjustment of oscillating roller dead point help operators achieve full color quickly and efficiently. Mitsubishi vice president, administration, Matt Kendrick, indicated that printing companies, such as Digital Color World, will benefit from not only the speed and capacity of the Diamond 3000LS, but also the consistent quality and reliable production. Being able to produce high-volume products as well as color-dominant short-run work will better equip them to move into new markets more easily, he explained. Mitsubishi offers Diamond Series sheetfed presses in 28-inch through 56-inch formats in configurations up to 12 colors. Fast job makeready, ease of operation and high throughput characterize the entire line of Diamond Series presses. Mitsubishi is a leader in the implementation of the Job Definition Format specification. Integrating Diamond Series presses into a JDF workflow enables printers to decrease waste, accelerate job changeover, add value to the finished product and improve competitiveness.
