Agfa Customer Earns Best in Show Honors at America East

Hershey, PA – America East (Booth #82) – April 7, 2005 – Agfa is proud to announce today that the Journal Register Company (Trenton, NJ), publishers of 27 daily and 338 non-daily publications, has been honored as "Best in Show" at the ninth annual "Print Quality Contest" at America East. The honor was bestowed upon the Journal Register Wednesday afternoon at the Print Quality Awards Presentation at the America East Newspaper Operations and Technology Conference in Hershey, PA. The "Best in Show" honor came in addition to the four print quality awards The Journal Register also took home earlier in the week. In the category for newspapers with circulations less than 25,000, Journal Register Offset took the top three positions, sweeping the category. The Journal Register also took second place in the 25,000 – 50,000 circulation category, winning four out of the possible six awards for which the company was being considered. "It is an honor to be recognized as 'Best in Show' here at America East," said Gary Coppola, general manager, Journal Register Offset. "The honor is testament to the hard work everyone at The Journal Register does each and every day." The awards won by Journal Register Company honored products that were produced by its new state-of-the-art production facility, Journal Register Offset, located in Exton, PA which prints five daily and 58 non-daily publications. Journal Register Offset uses Agfa's 3850 CtP system, :PRM workflow and :N91 plates. "The plates are just great! With our volume of publications, consistency is the key. We don't have time for problems and the :N91 plate gives us the consistency we need with zero problems," said Gary Coppola, general manager, Journal Register Offset.
