IKON To Distribute eCopy Open Platform Products

Press release from the issuing company

MALVERN, Pa.--April 5, 2005-- IKON Office Solutions, the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, and eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today announced that IKON will distribute and support eCopy's Open Platform products on IKON's best-in-class portfolio of digital multifunction products from Canon, Ricoh and HP. IKON will distribute ShareScan OP v3.0 and ScanStation OP v3.0, eCopy's new flagship products that were announced today at the eCopy Paper Connection Forum in Miami, Fla. eCopy ShareScan OP comprises document imaging and distribution software that transforms digital copiers and scanners into information hubs by integrating hardcopy documents directly into the workflow of critical business processes. ShareScan OP software operates on the eCopy ScanStation OP, which attaches to digital multifunction products from across the IKON portfolio. In addition, ShareScan OP v3.0 Connectors allow the solution to link directly to enterprise applications such as EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform and Captaris RightFax, which are offered through IKON Enterprise Services, IKON's global services organization. "Since forming IKON Enterprise Services nearly a year ago, IKON has established a robust integrated solutions portfolio, comprised of best-in-class document management solutions from industry leading technology companies," said Michael E. Kohlsdorf, senior vice president of IKON Enterprise Services. "Our integrated solutions portfolio is built on an open-architecture platform, which allows us to integrate the best technology from multiple vendors to meet each customer's unique document management needs. eCopy's Open Platform products integrate well into our product architecture." "IKON has developed a world-class channel for document management systems and solutions, and we're proud to have partnered with them to distribute and support eCopy solutions over the last 10 years," said Edward Schmid, eCopy president and CEO. "With our new open platform architecture, IKON will be able to leverage the eCopy products across many digital copier platforms, giving customers a wide range of choices to best meet their document workflow needs."
