As more and more industry professionals adopt remote proofing, reliable and consistent color remains a critical factor. As a result, ICS continues to work with its industry partners to produce remote proofing solutions that graphic arts professionals can rely on. “LaCie has an excellent reputation in the market and we are excited to offer our customers the latest SWOP certified configuration for Remote Director v3.0,” said John Sweeney, vice president, sales and marketing, ICS. ICS paired Remote Director with LaCie’s 321 Monitor, a 21-inch LCD designed to meet the color needs of serious graphics professionals. Remote Director runs on commercially available hardware and allows multiple users to view and collaborate on proofs with all of the necessary tools for examining color, marking changes and giving final approval. It allows multiple users to view the same artwork and comment on content – all without consideration for geographical borders. LaCie 321 utilizes SA-Superfine TFT technology, the most advanced LCD panel technology available today. Whether on a Mac or PC, LaCie 321 ensures that images are displayed as they were intended. Unprecedented color rendering combined with excellent contrast ratio (500:1), brightness (250 cd/m2), and expansive viewing angles (176°) offers graphic artists the advantage of premium viewing conditions. Together, Remote Director and the LaCie 321 LCD monitor deliver the color and consistency that graphic arts professionals need to meet deadlines and stay on budget. “Monitor proofing is the future,” said Daniel Mayer , LaCie Product Manager. “We are pleased to announce this partnership with ICS and are proud of our SWOP certification.” Specifications Web Offset Publications (SWOP) aims to continually raise the level of quality of publication printing by offering specifications and tolerances for those working in the graphic arts industry.
