Pitney Bowes Launches dMail Executive Mail Management Solution at the AIIM/OnDemand

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., May 17 -- Pitney Bowes Inc., the global leader of integrated mail and document management solutions, will officially unveil its new modular digital mail solution at booth # 1049 at the AIIM On Demand Conference and Exposition, to be held May 16-19 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The dMail(TM) Executive Mail Management solution is the first generally available module within the dMail(TM) Suite, and is a complete solution for the digitization of incoming correspondence mail, bringing the speed and efficiency of electronic communication to the hard-copy mailstream for high-level executives. dMail(TM) Executive Mail Management enables C-suite executives to gain access to scanned and indexed documents from any location within reach of the enterprise network, including remote connections from virtually anywhere in the world. Capabilities include document capture, tracking and control, and an easy to use interface that offers users a rich set of features to better manage their mail correspondences. "More than half of our mail services clients have inquired about the availability of digital mail, and we are very pleased to have a fully beta tested solution to offer them," said Stew Gibson, Vice President of Solutions Management, Pitney Bowes Management Services. "We are offering C-level executives the most comprehensive digital mail solution available today. Pitney Bowes not only has unparalleled expertise in mail management, but we are also a trusted partner to thousands of organizations of every size, an attribute that makes the dMail(TM) Suite a natural extension of our mail solutions. The combination of best in class technology integrated with best practices in mail management makes our solution unique." Digitizing incoming mail has attracted a great deal of attention by C-level executives for a number of reasons. Key drivers include security, compliance, control and cycle time for key decisions that affect the enterprise. Ever since the anthrax attacks of October 2001, many executives have expressed a desire to limit the flow of mail or even move the mailroom offsite to limit the potential damage a biological or chemical substance can do to the business. "In today's business climate, when a hoax or even the discovery of an accidentally spilled harmless white powder can shut down a business, corporate executives are trying to limit the amount of outside material entering their environment," said Gibson. "Digitizing the mail helps facilitate the delivery of that mail to both home office and offsite-based employees. Indeed, in a business world that is increasingly offsite and remote, incoming mail can be processed more efficiently to employees who work from home or on the road if it is digitized and distributed electronically. After decades of predictions about the 'paperless office,' it appears that the office may be gone before the paper." Customers often send mail to the most visible person in the company -- the CEO -- even if the answer is to come from another resource. Decision-making is easier and questions can be answered more effectively when customer correspondence is routed internally through a digital mail system. Lastly, the tightly controlled business environment eagerly sought by executives who need to comply with regulations like Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA may find that the history tracking capabilities of the Pitney Bowes dMail(TM) Executive Mail Management solution helps their cause.
