Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. – March 29, 2005 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: AMS Printing Co. Adds POLAR 66 Cutter To Bindery AMS Printing Co., based in Redwood City, Calif., recently installed a POLAR 66 cutter. The first-time Heidelberg customer is using the new postpress equipment to finish direct mail pieces, letterhead and envelopes. AMS Printing is a full-service printing and label manufacturer that has been in business for 12 years. With five full-time employees, the small shop services a national client base of biotechnology and computer software companies. Badger Press Inc. Increases Productivity With New Stitchmaster ST 270 Located in Fort Atkinson, Wis., Badger Press Inc. recently added an ST 270 saddlestitcher to its bindery. The new system replaces an older Heidelberg stitcher and is being used to finish booklets and manuals. Since the installation, productivity within the shop has increased significantly and workflow in the bindery has been streamlined. Badger Press is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer. With 70 employees, the mid-size shop services local and regional clients such as library supply houses and publishers. Baton Rouge Printing Adds Prosetter 74 With Single Cassette Loader Baton Rouge Printing recently added a Prosetter 74 with Single Cassette Loader in order to increase automation within its prepress department. The all-Heidelberg shop is using the new computer-to-plate system to create plates for pocket folders, annual reports, newsletters and books. Since the installation, the shop has reported an increase in efficiencies and a significant improvement in the quality of work produced on the new system. Baton Rouge Printing is a full-service general commercial printer located in Baton Rouge, La. The shop houses nearly 45 employees and services local and national hospitals and home health agencies. Color Spectrum Network Carves Niche with Speedmaster CD 102 Color Spectrum Network, a high-end manufacturer of printed folding cartons, recently installed a seven-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater, extended delivery and ultra-violet (UV) capabilities. Located in Marietta, Ga., the new press places Color Spectrum as the only folding carton company in Georgia to offer UV printing options in all seven units. The company purchased the new press in order to increase print offerings and to accommodate customer demand for in-line UV capabilities. Established in 1994, Color Spectrum Network is a mid-sized, high-end packaging printer specializing in high-end folding cartons. The shop has a national customer base that includes companies such as Intuit, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Bridgestone Sports. Corporate Electronic Stationery Installs Two Printmaster QM 46 Presses Corporate Electronic Stationery (CES), based in Troy, Mich., has increased its productivity by 40 percent with the recent installation of two Printmaster QM 46-2 presses. Thanks to the automation on the new Heidelberg presses, the shop is able to produce 10 runs of 500 impressions per hour and has eliminated the use of three existing AB Dick presses. Founded in 1980, CES is an electronic stationery manufacturer that creates business cards, stationery, envelopes, post cards and other items in ready-to-print electronic files. The company markets its printing services to businesses through a network of approximately 2,000 dealers nationwide. Litho Print Doubles Productivity With New Speedmaster CD 74 Litho Print, a Dayton, Ohio midsize commercial printer, recently added a Speedmaster CD 74 to its pressroom in order to meet growing customer demand. Litho Print chose a five-color 23” x 29” press with aqueous coater and extended dryer to meet the demands of its national account base. The highly automated press with rapid changeover capability was added to respond to customer projects that are produced within an extremely short timeframe. Since the installation, the shop has doubled productivity and has retired two existing presses and placed a third on backup status. The shop produces high-end, point-of-sale marketing materials, which are kit-packed and distributed across the country, as well as general commercial and digital short run projects. Founded in 1951, Litho Print currently has 18 employees. Minuteman Press of Danbury Increases Productivity with Printmaster QM 46 Danbury, Conn.-based Minuteman Press of Danbury, recently added a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press in order to increase productivity and the bottom line. Since the installation, the shop has seen an increase of nearly 20 percent in productivity allowing the shop to begin focusing on expanding its customer base in the coming year. Founded in 1988, Minuteman Press of Danbury is a small print shop serving a local client base with products such as brochures, letterhead, envelopes and postcards. Payne Printery Continues Heidelberg Tradition with Addition of Postpress Equipment Payne Printery Inc., located in Dallas, Pa., recently added a Stahl B30 buckle plate folder, a Stitchmaster ST 270 saddlesticher and POLAR ED 137 with automated jogger and transomat stacker system system in order to offer customers more options. The new bindery equipment has already helped the shop to expand its client base and increased productivity significantly. An all-Heidelberg shop for more than 70 years, Payne Printery is a mid-sized, family-owned, general commercial printer that specializes in producing materials for the financial, health care, and collegiate markets, including catalogs, pocket folders, brochures and other direct mail pieces. Printcraft Installs Printmaster PM 52 From Heidelberg Printcraft of Mamaroneck, N.Y., recently installed a four-color Printmaster PM 52 in order to improve efficiencies within the shop. Currently, Printcraft is using the new press to produce sizeable runs of newsletters. Founded in 1972, the all-Heidelberg shop houses 25 employees and services local businesses and non-profit organizations. Printcraft is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer that specializes in the production of newsletters and brochures. Saturn Printing & Mailing Adds Prosetter 52 Saturn Printing & Mailing, based in Livonia, Mich., recently installed a Prosetter 52 computer-to-plate system. The privately-owned quick commercial printer is using the new equipment to produce plates for four-color jobs such as business cards and letterhead. Since the installation, the shop has reported a decrease in material costs and improved quality and registration. Founded in 1987, Saturn Printing & Mailing services a local client base ranging from small businesses to large corporations. Signal Graphics Installs Printmaster QM 46 Signal Graphics, a general commercial printer located in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press in order to improve productivity. Since the installation, the shop has seen a significant decrease in makeready as well as large increases in print speeds, allowing more jobs to be produced. Founded in 1993, Signal Graphics is a small, family-owned and operated shop that produces a variety of business oriented materials for a local client base. Steven’s Printing Upgrades Estimating Package With Prinect Prinance Steven’s Printing, located in Portland, Ore., recently added Prinect Prinance Management Information System in order to upgrade its estimating package. Since the installation, the shop has streamlined its production management system and is able to compete with larger shops for jobs. Founded in 1979, Steven’s Printing is an all-Heidelberg shop specializing in printing small-format work for a regional client base of graphic designers and advertising agencies. Tepel Brothers Expands Capabilities With Speedmaster CD 102, Bindery Equipment Tepel Brothers Printing Company, based in Troy, Mich., recently installed a six-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater, a TD 78 folder, a POLAR 115ED cutter and an ST 270 Stitchmaster. With the addition of the new equipment, the shop has expanded its capabilities to include multi-page books. In addition, the company is able to keep all of its work in-house now and has brought in new clients. Tepel Brothers provides four-color, high quality offset printing and finishing services for a local and national client base that includes advertising agencies. The shop has been in business for more than16 years and specializes in color-critical jobs. Tepel Brothers has been a loyal Heidelberg customer for nearly 15 years. TL Krieg Offset Inc. Adds Prinect Prinance From Heidelberg TL Krieg Offset Inc., located in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently installed Prinect Prinance Management Information System. Since the installation of the new MIS system, the shop’s estimating and CRS times have been reduced by half. TL Krieg is an all-Heidelberg trade printer that is privately-owned and operated. Founded in 1973, the shop houses 35 employees and provides offset printing and binding services to a regional client base. Woman's Hospital Installs Prepress, Bindery Equipment From Heidelberg Woman's Hospital, located in Baton Rouge, La., recently installed a Prosetter 52 with MetaDimension software and a POLAR 78X cutter. Since the installation, the hospital's print shop has noted that its printing process has become more efficient and versatile. In addition, makeready has decreased and the quality of work has improved. Woman's Hospital is an independent medical facility with an in-plant printing facility. With nine employees, the mid-size shop prints stationery, educational pieces, newsletters and promotional materials for Woman's Hospital and some outside accounts.
