PASADENA, Calif.--March 22, 2005-- Avery Dennison Corporation today announced that Sandra Beach Lin has been appointed to the newly created position of group vice president, Specialty Materials and Converting at Avery Dennison, effective April 4, 2005. Beach Lin, 47, will become a corporate officer of Avery Dennison and will be based at the Company's facilities in Painesville, Ohio, reporting to Dean Scarborough, president and chief operating officer. She will be responsible for providing strategic leadership of the Company's graphics materials, reflective materials, specialty tape, engineered films, performance polymers and industrial and automotive products divisions. "Sandy is a highly successful and experienced global business leader," said Philip M. Neal, chairman and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison. "We look forward to the many contributions Sandy will make to strengthen and expand our specialty materials and converting businesses." Beach Lin joins Avery Dennison from Closure Systems International in Chicago, Ill., a global division of Alcoa, Inc., where she has served as president since 2002. Prior to that position, she was in several roles at divisions of Honeywell International, including serving as president of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and vice president and general manager of Specialty Wax and Additives. Beach Lin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Toledo in 1980, and an MBA from the University of Michigan in 1982.
