Sheetfed Conference Attendees To Tour Leading Chicago-Area Printers

PARAMUS, N.J., MARCH 9, 2005 – Attendees of the 13th Annual NAPL & PIA/GATF Sheetfed Pressroom Conference, June 12-14, 2005, at the Marriott O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, will be able to enrich their Conference experience with a plant tour of one of three leading Chicago-area printers: Ed. Garvey and Company, AGI Klearfold, or Tukaiz. Offering insights into the innovative processes and solutions being applied by some of the top area printers, the tours have become a favorite of Conference attendees since they debuted two years ago. Plant tour participation is included in the overall Conference fee (see details below). Registration for each tour is limited, so those interested in take advantage of this popular feature are encouraged to register for the Conference early. Here’s a look at the three companies that will be “opening their doors” to Sheetfed Pressroom Conference attendees: - Ed. Garvey and Company. Named one of the 50-fastest growing printers in the U.S. by American Printer magazine, Niles, Ill.-based Ed. Garvey and Company (www.edgarvey.com) has positioned itself as a solutions provider, offering commercial sheetfed, web offset and digital printing, and mailing and fulfillment services. With facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin, the 85-year-old family-run business has more than 250 employees. Last April, the company installed a new six-color, 64-inch KBA Rapida sheetfed press with inline aqueous and UV coating to complement its multicolor, 40-inch Mitsubishi sheetfed press. - AGI Klearfold. The Melrose Park, Ill., plant of AGI Klearfold (www.agiklearfold.com), part of MeadWestvaco, is a leader in the development and production of high-quality folding cartons for the cosmetics industry and packaging for all types of digital media. With more than 250,000 square feet of production space and 300 employees, this full-service company has a full range of capabilities, ranging from art and structural packaging design through diecutting and folding/gluing. The company’s presses, two of which have double coaters, include a 56-inch, eight-color KBA; a 51-inch, seven-color Mitsubishi; a 40-inch, seven-color MAN Roland; and a 28-inch, six-color Heidelberg. - Tukaiz.
