Creo Synapse InSite Receives SWOP Certification for Soft Proofing

Press release from the issuing company

Vancouver, BC, Canada (March 1, 2005) – Creo Inc. is proud to announce that Synapse InSite has received SWOP Certification for soft proofing. This new optional feature, InSite Color, extends the capability of the Synapse InSite workflow by enabling accurate and consistent proofing in color critical scenarios. In addition, hard proofs for press samples match on-screen color when viewed under suitable lighting conditions. SWOP (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) endeavors to continually raise the level of publication printing quality by establishing specifications and guidelines for web offset printing. “We’re very excited to have received SWOP certification for Synapse InSite,” said Pat Lord, product manager, Synapse InSite. “InSite Color allows our customers to use Synapse InSite for more than automation, content proofing, review, and approval. InSite Color can instantly deliver color-accurate proofs as a part of a comprehensive workflow solution.” InSite Color Delivers Time and Cost Savings The Synapse InSite prepress portal reduces job cycle time, streamlines workflows and delivers real-time collaboration, regardless of where the user is located. Remote proofing, reviews, and approvals with Synapse InSite reduce the huge costs associated with making and shipping multiple proofs. Printers and print buyers have been enjoying the workflow integration and time and cost-saving benefits of Synapse InSite for the last four years. Synapse InSite eliminates the need to manage proofing as a separate process by operating as a seamless part of the production workflow. In addition, Synapse InSite offers powerful tools for workflow automation and connectivity that clearly differentiate it from other proofing systems. InSite Color implements the Creo Certified Process for color-accurate monitor proofing. The Creo Certified Process ensures that the appropriate color target is selected, and the review or approval is performed on a calibrated monitor. Synapse InSite has received SWOP Certification based on using the Eizo ColorEdge CG 21 LCD Monitor with GretagMacbeth Eye-One Spectrophotometer, and the GTI SOFV-1ex lighting booth for viewing. Additional equipment configurations will be qualified on an on-going basis. The SWOP-certified InSite Color option for Synapse InSite will be available in March 2005.
